The Kaytee CritterTrail Primary Small Animal Habitat is really good, although difficult to put together. It took about 3 hours to assemble. Never could figure out how the inside wheel fit on the inside of the cage. But it is definately mouse proof.
I had 6 mice in one of these and they were able to chew the plastic rim around the top door and escape.
The ball at the bottom of this water bottle is too heavy and my hamster couldn't get any water from it. You can guess what happened. All these cages have the same water bottle.
These cages are meant more for mice or hamsters but we use them for our daughters hermit crabs. We use sand and stone in deep bottom of this cage which works perfect for crabs to bury themselves to molt and grow into bigger shells
I bought this cage as an extra when I realized I had a male and female mouse and the female gave birth. It’s big enough to house a couple of mice in. Easy to clean and comes with everything necessary to start a habitat.
This cage is way too small for any hamster. Dwarf hamsters need at least 450+sq inches and syrians need 600+sq inches. Take the lengthXwidth to find out how big your cage is. The wheel that comes with this cage is also way too small. Dwarfs need 6.5-8in wheels, syrians need 10-12inch wheels. Youtube has a lot of great resources to learn about hamster care Victoria rachel, Munchies place and Erinsanimals are few.
This is a good habitat, but it is pretty small, so you should attach it to another cage or habitat, because the minimum amount of space a hamster should have is 450 sq. inches.
This is far too small for any small animal to use as a permanent home. Hamsters need 600sqin minimum of unbroken floorspace. Gerbils and mice need to be in pairs and would need a larger cage than this.
I have absolutely no complaints about this cage. It's so easy to put together instructions aren't even necessary. My hamster loves the hanging hideout, which is surprisingly bigger than it looked in the picture. I ordered extra tubes and an outhouse and everything connected easily. It's a great deal for the price.
Our mouse boy Teddy is really enjoying his new set up. The best part being the adorable pictures of him in his hanging nest. Perfect for the smaller rodent pets!
