I bought this because I haven't been able to find any calcium grit locally and the option I would prefer is sold out. At about 4 times the price of the preferred option, I thought this would at least be a good product but instead it is seemingly dyed blue and smells artificially flavored as if a packet of koolaid was dumped in. I'm not even sure I want to offer it to my finches for fear of it containing something that may harm them.
Better than regular grit!

This is great grit, lol. My cockatiels love this stuff. In my search for regular grit, this came up as an option, so I gave it a try for them. A very good item.

My cockatiels give High Calcium Grit 5 stars. They start each morning happily munching their grit. Thank you Chewy for making their mornings perfect.

Just what the bird asked for , He said it was the best gravel he ever tasted .
Gravel is not fine enough

It’s much bigger pieces than what I wanted. I was looking for a very fine grit. Not sure if you have that but what I got it too big for my budgie.
Cockatiel not impressed

My 20 year old cockatiel would not go near the grit. Unfortunately he is used to gravel - which no longer exists.

parakeets do not need grit or gravel

Budgies do not need gravel or grit because they remove the outer hull of the seed before ingesting the kernel. ... However, now we know that only birds like pigeons and doves that consume seeds whole, without removing the outer hull, need gravel to help them digest.
