Feeding Instructions

Feed cockatiels 2 - 4 tablespoons daily. Adjust portions for proper weight maintenance and when feeding additional pets. Discard any uneaten food and clean dish before each feeding.

Transition Instructions

When introducing a new food, begin with a mixture of old and new food, gradually increasing the amount of new food over a 7 - 10 day period. This will prevent digestive upsets as well as allow your pet to adjust to something new.

I love my kaytee food! Wish I could open the bag correctly so I can use the ziplock but a chip clip works to keep my food fresh!

  • 23 years strong

    By on

My Cockatiel has been thriving on this food and also the Kaytee Fiesta Gourmet food for 23 years and Sunshine was a rescue! So he is older than 23 ! He is still as chipper as he was when he was younger ! He has one had one time of illness in all those years.

My two cockatiels love this stuff, plus they seem to be in much better health - chirping more and with shinier feathers.

  • Good food, bad packaging

Same as the other bag. I cut on line per direction and the bag was not resealable. Again I had to repackage into gallon ziplock bags.

  • Birds love it

Bought this as a gift to incorporate a more balanced diet, birds immediately took to it and seem to enjoy it. Bag was plenty big, great value for the price.

  • A special purchase for a special friend.

My birds eat a pellet diet, only receiving seed as an occasional treat, but I'm making an exception for an old friend who's starting to show her age. One of my birds is a 26 year old Quaker Parakeet. She's showing less interest in treats she used to enjoy (but still loves pizza!), so I got this seed mix for her to feed in addition to her pellets and other treats, hoping to perk her interest a bit. I like this mix because it doesn’t have overly large pieces, or four variations of corn as some of the others do. There’s a good variety of seeds and different colored small pieces of pellet. So far, the only drawback I’ve found was when I went to cut the bag open. My cats heard the bag crinkle My birds eat a pellet diet, only receiving seed as an occasional treat, but I'm making an exception for an old friend who's starting to show her age. Good quality seed - clean, grit and dust free - I do keep it in the freezer to insure freshness.
