Koi need protein from fish meal to grow new tissue, maintain muscle health and provide energy. Kaytee Koi's Choice Premium Fish Food is 35 percent protein and fish meal is the first ingredient. It also contains corn, fish oil, wheat germ meal and alfalfa meal to enhance color, support eye, heart and brain health and aid in digestion. Feed only as much that your koi will eat within five to 10 minutes and offer one to five times a day depending on water temperature.

Warm water: (above 60°F) Feed 1 - 5 times daily, increasing the number of feedings as temperature rises or to achieve desired results. Cool water: (50° - 60°F) Feed 1 or 2 times daily. Cold water: (below 50°F) Feed every other day. Do not feed below 40°F.
Feeding frequency varies with water temperature and the amount of growth desired. Never provide more food per feeding than will be fully consumed within 5 - 10 minutes. Remove uneaten food.

I got this to feed koi at the local cemetery. Didnt realize there were soooo many small and baby fish...guess they were hiding under the Lily pads. Now when they see me and my dog they immediately rush towards the sides of pond as we walk around perimeter tossing handfuls of the pellets in. They seem to love it! It has the protein they need. Too many people think they are doing a good thing by tossing white bread in there...unfortunately thats like one of the worst things for ANY wildlife...and humans for that matter!!

I didn’t realize the koi food I purchased in feed stores contained animal protein- fish only eat other fish. This koi food from Chewy is the perfect balance of high quality fish protein and nutritional supplements. My fish love it and now I feel good to be feeding them the proper nutrition. The price was reasonable too

I have an outdoor pond and started with this fish food almost 18 years ago . Fish have been very healthy and my pond stays clear and issue free !! Fish love it !! At this time it’s really only a daily snack because the fish eat plants , algae and anything else that’s naturally growing in our pond . But they love their snack and I love treating them !
