Each order I get seems to be a luck of the draw on quality. Sometimes, it will be great quality with decent hay stocks, but others it will be short clippings that cause more of the hay to be wasted by my piggies than eaten. Unfortunately, the variable quality has turned me off, and I will be going with a different product with my next order.
I have purchased a lot of this item and will no longer be purchasing. I keep getting bags of dust. This is extremely expensive for a bag of hay dust that my rabbits and chinchillas will not eat. This company (Kaytee) needs to put on the package what type of hay you will be getting, i.e. long cut or a bag of dust. I will be going to the store so I can see what I am getting in person from now on.
So glad that timothy hay is available, since it's difficult to find locally. Order was filled quickly, and within a few days, rabbits were enjoying what had been missing from their diet. Thank you.
This bag of Timothy hay was bigger than what I purchased in store and I got a deal by buying 2. My Guinea pig munches on this all day.
Even though this is cheaper at my local store, I dd it to my order. I'm getting it anyway, my pigs love it.
It used to be good. My guinea pigs no longer like it. Too hard and stringy, no "flowers". They dig through it and throw it down from their racks. I have to refill it once to twice a day... Very disappointing.
My Dutch rabbit loves a healthy helping of this Timothy hay daily. She loves chewing it and it's great for her teeth. I'm glad it comes in pretty large sizes, we go through it quickly!
I have bought several bags of Timothy Hay for my Guinea pig. Never had a problem until the most recent purchase. I gave him several handfuls of hay and noticed the next day there was a headless dead bird in his habitat. I grew up in the country, so I imagine it happened during the cutting of the hay. I now have to inspect all the hay I give him. I also realize this is not the fault of chewy. That’s why I still give it 4 stars.
Very dry hay. We have used this brand for a couple years now. It used to always been green, soft hay. Now its long stringy and very dry compared to what our bun was used to. She refuses to eat it now. The consistency is like straw for bedding. Currently looking for a better, soft and green option
I used to get this hay all the time, my last order of 2 bags was so very dry. My guinea pigs want nothing to do with it. Very dissatisfied
