Not for Lionheads
My 1 1/2 pound Lionhead bunny took a whole hot minute and a half before he leaped over the side. It's nowhere near tall enough. It is built well though so I think it would work for a rat or a guinea pig.
deceiving photo
It is way shorter than it appears to be, and is flimsy. Bunny jumped right out and it just flopped over as well.
Not escape proof
Great size, canvas works great for keeping floor clean but it doesn't hook together well and was easily pushed open. Used a few twist ties at top and that helped
Not good for rabbits
I had this 1 day with a 3 month old bunny he was out of it in under 5 minutes and the mat is trash
Guinea Pigs are pleased
I bought this for my two new baby guinea pigs. They really enjoy it. Latches securely, pad is easy to clean. It’s a tad small so I’m going to purchase another one and attempt to connect them when as they get bigger. I’m thinking this will work regardless of the review insinuating it won’t lol
Works for our guinea pigs
This playpen works well for our two young (11 month old) guinea pigs. It's high enough they can't climb over, but short enough for my kids to reach in to interact with the guinea pigs. It's a decent size-- we're using it so they can get some time out in the grass. The square footage is probably smaller than their Midwest cage so I don't think it necessarily gives them a lot of space to run around in compared to their cage, but it creates a nice safe space for temporary play to take them outdoors or while cleaning their cage.
Pen is good
Pen worked well for rabbit, but the mat had to be replaced with a washable and better quality mat. Gets stained after use and did not wash well at all.
Small animal pen
Works well for guinea pigs. Easy to use. My daughter attaches it to another similar pen to give them a play area.
Not fur us
Is ok for a hamster...not a rabbit. Wont stay latched, so any animal that bumps it, it opens immediately. Very wobbly, non sturdy. Any small animal that gets up on it's back feet at all, the 15 inch is not large enough, and somehow the box was mutilated in shipping, so my kid recycled the box and now I cannot return this item to upgrade. Which also means I have to come out of pocket, AGAIN to replace this with a bigger version. It is definitely ok for a small dwarf Guinea or close version. Our current rescue is a mini rex, and when he is on his back legs he stands well over the the top of this... lesson learned. Lol Customer service was amazing though. The woman who helped with my order was fantastic. We are still waiting to set up an account for our rescue, and she sat on the phone with us for over an hour helping us with stuff. Couldn't have asked for better service. I just wish I hadn't made such a mistake with this particular product and the deliverer hadn't been so careless with the box, but that's no the fault of Chewy.
good for guinea pigs
this is a good play yard for guinea pigs, very easy to put them in here when you clean the cage. It was smaller than I expected it to be.
