Perfect bedding for rats!
By Mina on Feb 26, 2021
I've had rats for years and this is by far the best bedding I have ever used for them. Any other bedding and I have URIs without fail (unless it's Yesterdays News, but hard paper pellets don't rank well for comfort!). Wood bedding of any kind being my absolute least favorite, and fluffy paper being just before it. Always have had issues with that, WITH daily spot cleaning and weekly changes. I can do bi-weekly changes with this litter, but with fewer rats I'd be able to change less often. One bag can fill each stainless steel pan for my double critter nation with enough cushion for my rats. This bedding is a very fine paper granule, very low dust, if any (the granules can get caught in their I've had rats for years and this is by far the best bedding I have ever used for them. This bedding is a very fine paper granule, very low dust, if any (the granules can get caught in their fur when they're hunkered down, but it's never caused an issue for me or them. They shake it off or I pet it off). It's also very easy to spot clean. I also don't notice that funky rat smell they have sometimes. I had 7 boys, now down to 4, and the smell has been nonexistant with proper cleaning. You do definitely have to freeze this bedding, as is recommended for all bedding. My only lice cases happened when I forgot to freeze for 24 hours, but that is a risk you run with any small animal bedding you don't freeze. My rats have never tried eating this bedding, ever. They're much more comfortable and much healthier on this bedding than any other I've used - Cannot recommend this enough! If you do use the 3" stainless steel pans, or shallow levels, it WILL get everywhere, however (but what bedding won't - this is very easily vacuumed or swept up). … more

My opinion, it’s better than paper bedding
By kiiingboog on Jan 17, 2021
I love this! I wish I knew about this sooner. I used paper bedding for my skinny pigs kitchen area, and they just got paper bedding everywhere, I hated it! And within 2 days my whole living room was smelly. I started using granule about 2 weeks ago, and I must say it’s amazing. I change the granule every week as to having to change paper bedding every 2 days. It’s easier to spot clean daily. Easier to clean up or vacuum. I would highly recommend this for guinea pigs.

avoid consumption?
By Marshy on Jan 16, 2021
I bought this for our bunny, thinking it would be safe to put in her litterbox. When we ran out of our current material, my daughter opened this bag to fill Marshmallow's litter box. She just happened to see the warning on the bag - avoid consumption. WHAT?? Rabbits are notorious chewers, and chew on all kinds of things. I was so disappointed in this purchase. This may work for small animals that do not "munch" on everything, but not rabbits.

Not what I wanted
By Katelyn on Jan 23, 2021
I wanted to get something else to put under the aspen bedding we use, I thought this is what I wanted but it’s not. I received product that was completely crushed up and basically dust. Not worth the money. I should have went with my gut which was to get another type of bedding.

great for a base litter
By sarah1399 on Jan 5, 2021
I wouldn’t use this as a litter by itself for any animal since the granules are very hard and also tend to have splintery pieces in it. However, I love using this to put down first before I put the usual litter I use on top and it really helps to keep my piggies cages dry and stink free.

Keeps down the smell
By Edith on Dec 17, 2020
I put down in the cage newspaper, then pads, a fleece cover, then this litter. then since it is kind of dusty and flies about, I cover lightly with another type of litter. Butternut then covers it with hay. This litter keeps the smell down. We can change less often. I know it is this litter because I used everything else before and had an odor problem.

Works for hedgehog stink but not Guinea Pig
By TwoPiggies on Oct 14, 2020
So ! this masks the odor of my hedgehogs acidic smelling poops but not the two piggies ....it actually gets sloppy soaking wet and stinks BAD ..strange. thus, I recommend for hedgehogs. Also ! seriously not dusty. doesnt make my hedgie sneeze like other brands

Best For Guinea Pig Litter Pans
By suzyq2020 on Sep 18, 2020
I was looking for a more cost effective litter for my 4 Guineas. I was using Oxbow Eco pellets and although I liked them, they are pretty pricey. My piggies are on fleece and are litter box trained. This litter is absorbent, and controlled orders well. I clean my litter boxes daily and one bag lasts a long time. Piggies did not mind the switch. Great product. Highly recommend!!!!

Awesome Small Animal Bedding !
By Bedding on Sep 28, 2020
This is perfect bedding for my hedgie ! It's the only bedding I like to use for Peri ! This big bag has lasted a long time, matter of fact, I'm still using it. I bought this bag on August 15th & I still have about a quarter of it left !

Actually helps with odors
By Mumm on Aug 4, 2020
I really like this product even if many reviews complain about the weird, hard, or huge balls. This actually helps with odors! I can change bedding once a week instead of every other day compared to shavings. The balls aren’t overly hard, are very absorbent, and my critters seem to use the occasional big pieces to stabilize nests. Downside is that the bedding is not compressed and individual pieces are fairly heavy. So storage takes up more space and seems to take a lot of bedding each change.
