Wipe off any stuck-on residue from feeder. If necessary, use a small bottlebrush to tackle any stuck-on mess. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Wipe with a cloth and allow feeder to dry completely before refilling.

This product is a complete and total failure. I thought the finches were eating pounds of seeds only to find that the mesh is allowing most of the seed to hit the ground. I took a sample from the ground and found that about 80% or more of the seeds were not eaten. Nyjer seed isn't cheap and the birds are not getting fed well. What a waste of money!!!
After using just a “sock”, this concept is great. SO Easy to refill! Can leave it hanging on the hook! I also like that it came with a replacement sock. (Although the rubber ring that is to go around the bottom of the “filler” broke on one of the socks when I tried to place it on the top/lid! I’ll have to use a small tie wrap or something, when I need to replace the other one.) The birds took to it without a problem!
I love to watch the golden finches, therefore, I bought this feeder. I think the feeder is easy to fill up, the cover keeps the seed dry, and the birds flock to this feeder. It holds my finch specific food very well, and I fill about once a week or week and a half. I plan on buying more so I can have a finch bird feeding station away from my other feeders.
Don't buy this. The holes in the "sock" are too big for the Nyjer seed and it just falls right through. A complete waste of money (and seed). I threw it away. I give this product ZERO stars.
I love this concept! So easy to fill with no waste. Single socks are sometimes difficult to refill. This is super simple, no mess & no spillage. The extra reservoir makes in between fill ups last longer. Also comes with an extra sock to keep it fresh & clean. Love Chewy! Thank you for being there during this past year for all my fur babies. You are appreciated!
I purchased this feeder hoping that it would feed the finch for longer than one day. The standard sock feeders seemed to empty out within a day. The goldfinch is one of the few birds that will eat sideways and upside down and are always enjoyable to watch. However, all I seem to have accomplished is instead of 6-10 hanging on the standard sock, there are now 15 or more. Based on their chirps from my yard, it seems that there are 2 flocks feeding at my feeder. A ton of thistle seed ends up on the ground and the unlucky clingers drop down to work the pile.
So glad I saw this bird feeder, it is so much nicer than having just a sock hanging.
The mesh had such large openings the feed - Kaytee Brand, so you’d think it was “the right kind” for a feeder they make - runs straight through. I have no idea how this can be sold as a viable product. And thinking I was buying a reliable product from a reliable supplier, I bought two in order to create an order that qualified for free shipping. As the saying goes, Sometimes free turns out expensive.
Not worth the bother or the cost. Awkward to handle, better to just buy the filled socks.
Very easy to put together. Keeps rain off most of the sock. Like the twin pack of socks. My only complaint is the wire is way too long.
