Kentucky Equine Research Re-Leve Low-NSC Horse Feed, 44-lb bag

Kentucky Equine Research Re-Leve Low-NSC Horse Feed is formulated for horses who have health conditions that require a low-starch diet. A low-starch diet is often recommended for horses who are prone to a variety of muscular disorders and metabolic syndromes like polysaccharide storage myopathy (PSSM or EPSM) or recurrent exertional rhabdomyolysis (RER). These can be exacerbated by eating soluble carbohydrates, which is why this feed maintains its energy density with fat and fermentable fibers instead of starch sources. This high-calorie formula contains high-fat rice bran and fibrous beet pulp and soybeans, plus appropriate levels of vitamins and minerals for optimal performance.
Key Benefits- Recommended by veterinarians and may help horses who suffer from muscular disorders.
- 100% free from typical grains like oats, corn and barley.
- Low in non-structural carbohydrates, so it’s especially great for horses with a variety of metabolic challenges.
- High in fat from rice bran and vegetable oil for an energy and a boost in calories.
- The energy source profile in this feed helps your horses stay focused and fuel top performance.
Do not feed to sheep; contains copper.

Feed at a rate of 5-18 lb (0.5 - 1.5 lb per 100 lb body weight) per day depending on the level of work as well as the size and body condition of the horse. RE-LEVE Original should be fed with high-quality hay or pasture equaling at least 1-1.5% of the horses body weight per day.
If your horse requires less than 5 lb (or 0.5 lb per 100 lb of body weight) of supplemental feed per day, RE-LEVE can be supplemented with a ration balancer or a concentrated low-intake source of vitamins and minerals such as KER Micro-Max to ensure adequate nutrient intake is provided.
Always provide a source of fresh, clean water and a free-choice source of salt.
Make changes to your horse's diet gradually, over 7-10 days, to minimize the risk of complications.
