Description

Water is best served cold, and the K&H Pet Products Coolin' Bowl Dog & Cat Bowl allows you to do just that. Using an innovative inner gel core and double-walled insulation, it can actually keep water refreshing and cool for up to 15 hours at a time! It’s perfect for pet parents that work and can’t add ice throughout the day, and it’s also great for outdoor activities like trips to the beach or dog park. Simply fill the inner core with water, which will activate the cooling gel crystals, and then freeze overnight. For bonus cooling, try filling it with an inch of water before the nightly freeze—that layer of ice in the morning will add to the icy coolness!

Key Benefits
  • Cooling water bowl keeps water refreshing cool for as long as 15 hours.
  • Features an inner gel core and double-walled insulation. No electricity required!
  • Activate the inner gel crystals by filling with water, and then freeze overnight.
  • Indoor/outdoor design is great for working pet parents, travel to the beach, camping and more.
  • Made from BPA-free, 100 non-toxic materials. Hand wash only to protect the unique gel crystals.
Precautions

Watch your pet initially for suitability with the item. Due to extreme coolness, the bowl will sweat. Please protect your floors from the condensation of your Coolin' Bowl.

Instructions

Upon purchase fill the inner core with water using the plug on the underside. This will activate the Coolin’ Gel Crystals. Then give it a good shake to distribute evenly and place the bowl in the freezer overnight. In the morning just add water and set outside in a cool, shaded area to offer maximum cooling longevity.

Due to the gel crystals in the core, hand wash only. Make sure that the rubber plug underneath the bowl is securely attached before washing. Hand wash with warm soapy water, then be sure to rinse thoroughly.

    Difficult to use

I ordered the very large version of this bowl, then found I had difficulty fitting it into my freezer. I realize that's one me, too much competing ice cream, etc. But here's the thing: After going to all the trouble, and even adding ice into the bowl itself, it didn't seem to stay cold that long. Maybe 4 or 5 hours. Granted, we've been having a terrible heat wave here in CA. Our area reached 121 degrees, so maybe it's unreasonable to expect it to stay cold for long. I wanted to help out our outside semi feral cat with this purchase, but he doesn't seem to go to it much. Instead, he chooses the old stainless steel bowls. The raccoons who visit nightly do seem to love it, though, and turn it into a muddy play toy. I've stopped trying to wash it out and fit it back into the freezer. It just doesn't seem worth it. And once it's used by outside animals, I'm thinking, do I really want it back in my freezer? I don't have that much confidence in my ability to scrub. I do, however, really like the K & H filtered water bowl which I purchased recently for my inside cats, but his one, doesn't really work for me. It is heavy and weighted, though, so won't tip over easily, making it acceptable for general use. I just don't think the freezing function does all that much for the trouble. … more

    Perfect for warmer days outside

    By on

Purchased this to keep the water cold on warmer days as my pups prefer to play in warm water than to drink it. Following the instructions provided helped. We also tried just throwing it in the fridge instead of freezer for the same amount of time and it does work, but not as well as it would have frozen. Definitely recommend if your dogs love playing outside all the time. Price point was kind of high though

    Easy Peasy & It Works

    By on

I received 2 of the 32 oz bowls yesterday for my cat who loves ice cold water. I followed instructions and froze them both overnight. I put one out on the west-facing covered porch (that doesn't get morning sun) behind a pot with a big plant in it about 9:30 AM. I filled it with refrigerated filtered water. Just checked at 6:00 PM after the hot afternoon sun (90 today) started beating down on the porch starting about 3:00 PM, and the water is cool. It's not really cold, but very drinkable. I'll probably replace it with the second one now and keep rotating each day like that. I would have bought this sooner, but I thought it would be too big for my cat to drink from since she's small. The 32 oz one is not too big for her. Buy it! I love these! And the price is awesome! If one fails, I'll just buy more. Actually, I will buy more for just in case. Thanks K&H and Chewy for carrying these. Beats the heck out of changing her water several times per day. … more

    Great bowl for outdoor pets

    By on

I bought 2 of these bowls for the feral cats in the neighborhood. I keep 1 in the freezer so I can switch them out each morning. It keeps the water cold for most of the day, and in the evening it is still cool even on the hottest days.

    Does not stay cold

    By on

The description says it stays cold for 15 hours but it didn’t even last 5 hours in the heat even though it was in the freezer for days before.

    False advertising.

    By on

Ordered this for our outside dog so we wouldn't have to keep putting ice cubes in her water. Only stays cold for about 3 hours, even though it says in the info that it stays cold for up to 15 hours.

5 stars for size and durability

I purchased this bowl last year for my 3 dogs during the Tennessee summers (hot and humid!). I'm very impressed with the 96 oz size and the quality of the plastic. It's heavy-duty without being very heavy in weight and my 75 pound bowl-tipper hasn't been able to flip it yet! At first, the cooling worked wonderfully. I filled the inside per instructions and added about an inch of water to the inside of the bowl before freezing to have a layer of ice in the bottom. It stays in the shade on our screen porch, and for the first summer, it stayed as cool as could be expected, so I was very pleased. This second year, not so much. I will continue using it for the size and sturdiness, but I wouldn't count on the cooling any more than freezing an inch of water in a regular bowl. … more

    Pretty cool

    By on

I bought these 96 oz cooler bowls for outside cats for the very hot summer. They work as advertised. I put them in the freezer and fill with an inch of water and make sure the water is cool that is added to the bowl in the morning. The water remains cool into the evening. Instead of just using the cooler bowl as the drinking bowl, I put a glass bowl with water inside the cooler bowl. That way, I can leave the glass bowl outside and put the cooler bowl back in the freezer over night. Then I put the glass bowl back in the frozen cooler bowl outside in the morning.

LOVE IT & SO DOES HE

Best bowl out there. Keeps his water cold all day while I'm at work. He likes to like the ice before I add the water. A must have for outside babies in the summer.
