  • Unique built-in sensor and thermostat allow the pad's temperature to be easily adjusted between 80°F - 100°F and is adjustable between Fahrenheit and Celsius with an easy to read digital readout and simple push button design.
  • Use it to keep your furry one warm and cozy through the night; this pad is great for the kennel, dog house, garage, porch or wherever else your cat or dog likes to lie, both outside or inside.
  • Can be placed flat on the floor or be attached to the wall allowing your pet to either lay directly on it or rest against it to keep feeling warm and secure even at below freezing temperatures.

  • Place the Deluxe Lectro-Kennel directly on a hard, flat surface in your home or inside a doghouse or kennel. The area chosen should be sheltered from direct rain or snow.
  • Plug into 110 - 120 volt AC outlet. Allow 1 - 2 hours for the Deluxe Lectro-Kennel to warm. The unit will feel slightly warm to the touch. When an animal lies on the pad, his body will trap heat and raise the surface temperature of the pad. The built-in thermostat will automatically regulate the temperature based on your setting.
  • After initial warm-up, your Deluxe Lectro-Kennel will feel cooler to the touch. This is the intention for energy efficiency. When your pet lies on the bed, it will warm to a comfortable temperature in even the coldest of weather.
  • Wash the faux fleece cover on the gentle cycle with cold water, then line dry. The heated pad can be cleaned using a damp towel or sponge and mild dish washing detergent. DO not wash in a washing machine.

FAQ

How do I attach this to a dog house wall?

Simply drill 4 small holes, one in each corner of the Deluxe Lectro-Kennel, making sure to drill only in the lip of the pad. Then screw the Deluxe Lectro-Kennel to the wall.

What temperature will the Deluxe Lectro-Kennel reach?

This product features an adjustable thermostat range of 80-100°F. When your pet is not on the pad, the heat will dissipate into the air and the surface temperature will vary according to the ambient air temperature.

Does the thermostat remember the set-point after power is removed and reapplied, or does it revert back to a default setting?

The thermostat reverts to the default setting of 100°F when plugged in again.

IS this pad pressure sensitive?

This bed is not pressure sensitive. All K&H heated beds and pads feature dual thermostats and are designed to warm to your pet's normal body temperature when he/she lies on the pad. This is a function of the insulation provided by a pet’s body, not the weight of the pet. K&H beds and pads will emit heat anytime they are plugged in so your pet can sense that heat and be drawn to the bed or pad for warmth and comfort. When your pet is not on the pad, the heat will dissipate into the air and the surface temperature will vary according to the ambient air temperature.

I see that each size has a different wattage. How does that translate to the actual heating temperature?

All of our heated products are thermostatically controlled, regardless of the size. The variation in wattage is directly related to the size and the wattage necessary to heat that size bed.

How long is the cord?

The cord is 5.5 feet long.

Can I use an extension cord with this product?

MET requires that all manufacturers put the extension cord statement “Do not use with extension cord” on every item that is MET listed by UL 499 standards. This is because they cannot test every extension cord on the market in conjunction with our products for safety. Also, MET suggests that an extension cord is not recommended as a permanent fixture and should only be a temporary solution when using any electrical product.

How long can a heated pad be plugged in?

MET Safety Laboratories suggests unplugging the bed if you leave your home on an extended vacation, as they do with any electrical appliance. Otherwise, it is designed for 24/7 operation and you can leave it plugged in all day. This item has been certified by MET labs to adhere to strict electrical safety standards.

Is there an off/on switch?

There is not an off/on switch. The bed is always on when plugged in.

Can you place a heated pad on top of another pet bed or blanket for extra cushioning?

Outdoor heated pet beds and pads should be placed on a flat, stable surface rather than on top of a bed or blanket.

Can I place a heated pad on the ceiling of a kennel in order to offer heat from above? Our heated pads require direct contact with an animal's body and do not provide radiant heat. For these reasons, we only recommend placing a heated bed or pad on the floor or sidewall where the dog’s body will come in direct contact with the product.

Is it safe to use this without the cover?

Yes, you can use K&H outdoor heated beds and pads with or without the included cover.

If a pet urinates on a K&H heated bed or pad, will it suffer any harm from the electricity on the mat? Our pet has an incontinence problem.

If your pet urinates on a K&H heated bed or pad, he/she will not suffer any harm.

    Needing heat for critters

    By on

Bought a few of these years ago and never had issues except the end up over time getting wholes in them. Well wanted to go with these again so bought a few early this year and had problems with almost every one. They would just blink and couldn't set the temperature, called and told the issues and sent replacements and some will work but then just out of blue start blinking again, this is very unacceptable for the price of these things they should not be having issues. At a lose to what to do since winter is coming and the outside critters need warmth.

    Disappointed

    By on

I have used Lectro before, several heating pads. They would last several years. I bought a big one last winter, with the control monitor. It didn't work. I was sent another one, and that one did not work either. I never got another one, although I asked numerous times. I lost over $100 on this product. I did like them before they put the control temp in.

Bought three of these pads and only one of them worked

    By on

We have ordered three of these heating pads. The first one we have had for several months and it works great. The other two did not work at all right from the start and we had to return them. This is a big disappointment and we won't use this product again

    heated pad

    By on

I am generally pleased with the heated pad. The cover is not of high quality, ie. thin/skimpy. The elderly dog enjoys it sometimes. I wish it had an on/off switch as opposed to always disconnecting it with the cord from the outlet.

    Worked for us

    By on

It didn't heat up like we thought it should, ... But, I guess it did what it was supposed, to cause it kept our 25lb. Beagle warm & toasty through a cold Kentucky winter. We plan on using it again this coming winter.

    DOA and DAA

    By on

First one was DOA with just a blinking Them and no heat. Chewy is great and replaced right away but you typically find out there is a problem when you need it most. My second one just died as well (2 months old)...of course when it will be really cold tonight adding more stress. Totally unreliable in situations when you depend on it the most. Other K&H I will recommend but this is just a letdown. These are not cheap at all so you expect some sort of quality.

    Too pricey

    By on

I was really excited to purchase this heated mat, but when I got it in a damaged box, I was very unsatisfied. The cover for the mat was thin and cheap, the mat was hard, the coil that protected the cable was also cheap and annoying (got in the way). Also the price of the medium pad was higher than the large, do not know why. All in all, price was too high for this product. Very disappointed.

    JUNK Product

    By on

Have to leave my Aussie outside 3 days a week. Thought this would be a good addition to his dog house. Thermostat just blinks (from the time I got it) - can't adjust. Contacted K&H...short answer I am doing everything correctly. OK, I can live without the thermostat, but it does not heat either. Did a 4 hour test with a pillow and a weight on top of that - just blinking thermostat and no heat is not acceptable. Checked everything. Now how to return this waste of money?

So Warm my Dog now Loves his Outdoor Kennel

    By on

This heating pad is great. It works well in the house and in the kennel. If your dog likes to chew, you should keep the cord hidden because the steel ring may not be enough. It works by providing heat, trapping heat between itself and the dog, and managing heat with an adjustable thermostat. We live in SW Washington where nights outside get very cold and this works perfectly. I use it to keep him warm while no one is home. He now loves his kennel and it's actually becoming a safe place for him to go. The fleece cover doesn't fit perfectly but I'm sure you could make your own(the company doesn't recommend this though). Love it!

    Pleased with this item

    By on

With the weather getting cold I needed something for my baby to stay cozy while at work. IT goes from 80-100 degrees but wish it was a bit warmer for the dog used to a cozy house. Grateful for this product, however, as I can go to work with peace of mind my baby will be comfortable. I recommend this for your pup if he is out in the winter.
