- Place the Extreme Weather Kitty Pad directly on a hard, flat surface in your home or inside a cat house. The area chosen should be sheltered from direct rain or snow.
- Plug into 110 - 120 volt AC outlet. Allow 1 - 2 hours for the Extreme Weather Kitty Pad to warm. The unit will feel slightly warm to the touch. When an animal lies on the pad, it will reach a maximum temperature of approximately 102° F. The built-in thermostat will automatically regulate the temperature.
- After initial warm-up, your Extreme Weather Kitty Pad™ will feel cooler to the touch. This is the intention for energy efficiency. When your pet lies on the bed, it will warm to a comfortable temperature in even the coldest of weather.
- Wash the faux fleece cover on the gentle cycle with cold water, then line dry. The heated pad can be cleaned using a damp towel or sponge and mild dish washing detergent. Do not wash in a washing machine.

YES! Great for strays and ferals
By StrayFeralFriendly on Feb 5, 2021
This has been one of the best purchases I have made at Chewy. It allowed me to go to the next level with the stray kittens I've been working with. This bed keeps them close to my house where I can care for them. Of the five kittens born outside only two remain and I am doing my best to rehabilitate these babies to eventually live inside or as a hybrid indoor/outdoor cats someday and this mat has made all the difference in that pursuit. It took a few weeks for them to take to it because they didn't like that I added a blanket. So now the bed is in an unobstructed box on my covered porch. Once I threw cat treats in there they finally entered. I'm assuming they realized it was warm and that's what This has been one of the best purchases I have made at Chewy. This will ease your mind (and suffering in the world) if you are caring for some strays or cats who refuse to come inside. Highly recommend … more

Outdoor cats use every day
By Debo on Feb 8, 2021
I take care of a few stray and feral cats and put this out for them from Nov.- Mar. in MN. Usually when I look out the window I see one of them laying on this. I have it in a cardboard box with 6” high sides (they won’t use anything with a roof) that’s been lined in heat reflecting foil and it’s under an overhang so not always protected. When the falling snow can reach it I just cover it with a towel until it stops and I’ve had no problems. The pad is easy on and off, stays put, is easy to shake out and hand wash and dries quickly. I recommend removing and shaking it outside, both the element and pad get very dusty from use. On sale I paid under $30 and it’s worth that.

Porch Kitty stays warm!
By GrannyWhite on Feb 20, 2021
The recent ice/snow storm proved this to keep a squatter kitty safe and warm on porch. Every time I went to feed it, it would come out of the make shift house of cardboard box set in styrofoam encasement with heavy duty plastic on top to keep sleet and ice off the cardboard and extreme weather kitty pad in box with fleece blankets for added warmth.

Not great - too hard?
By Alison on Feb 6, 2021
I bought this for my cat who is always cold (his favourite winter spot is on top of the air vent) I have it in my living room and he has never used it, even after I put catnip on it. I thought it would be softer but it is a very hard plastic. The free cover that comes with it makes it slightly better but it still feels very hard. It doesn’t get very warm - certainly not warm enough to make a big difference indoors. Maybe it would be better outdoors.

Keeps cat warm!
By KLotts on Jan 10, 2021
We have a momma kitty that we had fixed and will hopefully adopt out one day. Her two 8 month olds (we also had fixed and want to adopt out) and our two cats are inside our small rental house(momma wants NO part of that zoo~one of our cats feels the same way unfortunately). So this leaves her outside~insert sad face. We made her a little house with this heating pad in it and she surprisingly stayed in it right away! We did the pillow test per the instructions and also feel the pad when MK leaves her house...the pad feels warm which makes us very happy that she has a shelter to be cozy in when she needs it!

Pad for outside cats
By Great on Feb 19, 2021
We bought 2 of these pads for a couple cats that come by our house from time to time . With record breaking cold we built 2 boxes and insulated them putting these pads on the bottom. They love the boxes ! Highly recommend. They don’t get too hot snd draw little power !

Read my review!
By Sandra on Jan 10, 2021
I placed it outside in a cat house I have for an older cat. He or she took to it on a very cold night and slept in the cat house every night since. I have the pad connected to an outside electrical cord. If it’s going to be cold I just plug it in. It turns on when he or she lays on it otherwise it does not warm up. Great product. Buy it. Sandra

Kitty heat pad
By Shadow on Jan 15, 2021
This heater works great. This is for a shop cat who stays in the warehouse. She loves it! She stays in her crate much of the time on the heat pad. The only bad remark is the fact that even with the fleece it is so it is like a hard wood. It does keep a constant temperature.

not the best heating pad
By Buddy on Nov 30, 2020
I thought this would fit with the kitty house I bought, but it does not fit inside, I have had to turn it sideways to fit inside the house with the side door open. I was so disappointed because tonight was the first cold night into the 20’s and snowing here in TN. Not happy with K&H Plus it’s a very hard pad with little padding and directions state not to add any bulk padding

Not hot enough
By Travis on Jan 15, 2021
Got this to help cats keep warm on cold nights instead of running house heater all night. It just barely provides any warmth. That cats are not really using it even though its cold because you can barely feel any difference. Its a waste.
