Description

Give your chickens a clean supply of drinking water with the K&H Pet Products Heated Thermo-Poultry Waterer. The ingenious design covers it all, starting with a 60-watt heater to keep water ice-free in colder temperatures. It also features a brilliant shape that eliminates roosting and the dirty water that comes with it, plus an easy-carry reservoir handle and spill-proof cap. The water filter ring allows you to clean the water tray in seconds—no draining needed, just remove the filter tray and lightly tap to remove debris. It can be easily refilled without spilling or needing to empty the entire waterer, and the rust-proof construction offers years of use.

Key Benefits
  • Ingenious shape eliminates roosting and the dirty water that comes with it plus an easy-carry handle.
  • Economical 60-watt heater keeps water ice-free in cold weather and has been tested in sub-zero temperatures.
  • Easy-flow, BPA-free design fills the tray gently and eliminates the muddy mess from half the water spilling over during refill.
  • Removable water filter allows you to clean the tray in seconds by tapping to remove the debris. No draining needed!
  • Spill-proof tank cap means no more spilling out half the tank trying to assemble it into the base.

†Capacity is calculated by total volume. When using container, choose a capacity greater than what you need to prevent overfilling and spills.

Best one I have tried in years.

By chickywater on Dec 23, 2021

We haven't had a serious cold but so far it has worked great out in my run in the below freezing we have had (nothing below 20º as of yet, located in Central IL). I like that the water does not spill out all over when putting tank on base, and it says place on level ground but as long as its close enough it does leak over the sides. I did not give it 5 stars because I feel that the cover for the water tank is rather annoying to line up and close properly so it fits right with out stripping the groves. I have about 25 chickens and fill it ever other day.

    Does the job

By Sarah on Dec 10, 2021

Quite expensive for what you get. The plug is very flimsy. The threads to screw the cap onto the tank are poorly formed plastic. the removable tray is a nice idea, but it still needs to be cleaned out. One hard tap on a below freezing day and I can see it cracking. Water out all day has not frozen so far, so in the end it is good for its intended purpose. I take it in the house in the evening and clean it for the next day. Has cut down on trips to the coop to check the waterers throughout the day.

    leaks on third refill

By JenW on Jan 10, 2022

I'm super bummed. I've had this for 10 days and it leaks all the water out as of today. I read some similar reviews and I just want to warn shoppers. My freezing run is now full of ice from this waterer leaking out a gallon of water.

    water freezes 9 degrees

By LesL on Jan 6, 2022

Disappointed that I spent this much money and the waterer continues to freeze. It’s 9 degrees and the water is frozen solid. Will have to spend more money and get another option that works better.

    Good almost great

By CJMC on Dec 20, 2021

Water doesn't freeze and easy to keep clean only problems need a way to hang from rafters. I cannot get it sitting level for the life of me then I have frozen hay for it leaking water all night

    overpriced

By Busybusymom on Nov 8, 2021

Very overpriced. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of options for heated waterers out there, so this was it. We’ll see how well it holds up heading in to the winter season.

    Convenience!

By SamTina on Jan 6, 2021

With only four chickens, the 2.5 gallon capacity has really reduced how often we need to fill the waterer. The lint trap-like screen resting in the water is great for moving debris without losing water from the tank. Last, yet most important, we are just happy to have a waterer that keeps the water from freezing in the winter!

    chickensaregood

By frustrated on Dec 22, 2020

I've used a few different waterers over the years for my birds. This one is the best so far. Easy to fill, no leakage, girls are comfortable using it. Illinois gets cold in the winter and there are no problems with freezing. (year 3)

    thermo-waterer

By catlady on Nov 11, 2020

My ducks were afraid of it and therefor would not use it - irritating to say the least - since I spent a lot of time stringing the electric cord from point a to point b. But my outdoor cats thank you since their normal water bowls freeze. They figured it out right away. I will still have to haul water to the ducks-oh well.

    Works great!

By Clynne on Nov 11, 2020

No more frozen water for my chickens. It is easy yo clean, and easy to fill. But, the jug does get a bit heavy if you fill it all the way. I think a 1 gallon would have been easier for me.
