    Not my favorite

By jancat on Dec 25, 2019

I have used K&H products for years. They are well designed, dependable and last. I have purchased every heated outdoor shelter they make, I think. This one is my least favorite. It is the smallest of the shelters, and only has one door. I am using it as an emergency shelter on a covered porch in case I have used K&H products for years. He will not go in

By Cheri on Oct 24, 2019

Disappointed in this product. My cat will not go in and stay in this shelter. The heating mat is hard and small since it only covers half of the floor. No cushioning, just the thin cover over a hard heating plate. I wouldn't want to lay on something that uncomfortable either.

    What To Do About Cats

    By on

Adopted a stray this summer who happily lived under our Car Covered Fiero. She started coming to back door as it got cold so I bought the heated Shelter. Looks and works Great...now we have to get her inside it instead of beside it! Whatcha' gonna do?

    So far, so good!

I purchased this for a cat that most of the time lives outside. I had the perfect place to put this shelter on my covered front porch next to the front door. Also there was an outdoor protected electrical outlet within 3 feet of where I placed the shelter. Very handy, as I plugged it the thermo-pad immediately, and leave it connected 24/7 at this time of year. I ordered the shelter in the tan color, and it exactly matched my house color, so almost looks custom-made! The cat LOVED THE THERMO-KITTY SHELTER from the get-go, and spends most of his time in it, because he can see everything that is going on from the front porch deck, which is gated so no dogs can wander up there, so cat seems I purchased this for a cat that most of the time lives outside. The only criticism I would have is that it was a bit difficult to get zipped up when I first put it together. I'm in Oregon, so when the winter weather arrives, it will be interesting to see if it keeps warm enough for the cat when the temperature falls. … more

    Kitty Really Likes It

    By on

I was a little intimidated by the zipper, but no problem! MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE HEATING PAD IN BEFORE YOU ZIP IT ALL THE WAY UP. IT IS HARD PLASTIC AND WON'T FIT THRU THE ENTRY FLAP!! Went together quickly and easily. Seems sturdy, windproof, and provides protection. Improvement suggestion to manufacturer: install a stretch rubber grommet to slide onto the cord to fit into the space where the cord inside exits. A lot of cold air flow there. Being used inside the barn on a high shelf away from possible predators. I added a fleece blanket in a circle to give the kitty someplace to snuggle into and to stop air flow from cord hole and from front flap. He loves it. Ginger Kitty Loves it!

    By on

It took a minute, but my feral Cat loves his new, warm heated shelter. I put it right next to the bin with straw in it, so he switches between the two depending on the temperature. I have peace of mind knowing he's warm in these frigid temps we're having.

    Mod Thermo Kitty shelter purchased

    By on

I wish that somewhere in the ordering process there was a choice for a small, medium or large Thermo shelter. Apparently I got a small. If they are listed separately not side by side how would you know the size you ordered. The shelter was tricky to put together, with worry the zipper might break. I put a gallon of water in it (8lbs) and it took 30 minutes before the temp changed from 72 yo 75. Last night I put it out with the door flap off and catnip in the front. She went in for the cat nip but came out. This morning it was very cold and there my girl was with her nose sticking out the door on my back porch in her shelter. I ususally open the door so she can run about in the day but I wish that somewhere in the ordering process there was a choice for a small, medium or large Thermo shelter. Apparently I got a small. I ususally open the door so she can run about in the day but that invites other ferals & unfed neighbors in who sometimes will spray on her things. Not sure if I need to take it inside in the day hours or keep the door closed. The price is pretty high for what you get. One night and she was inside it. But I spooked her moving her food bowl, so will she go back in again ? Will see. UPDATE: When the weather was cold she did go back in. Hope it is really keeping her warm. … more

    Wonderful warming shelter

    By on

My cat seems to love the new shelter. It didn't take her anytime to try it out and when I can't find her, I look in and there she is. She is very spooky and picky, but seems to love it. The only drawback is the zipping it together. It's tricky and you have to take it very slow and careful. But, it can be done.

Bad smell, cat won’t go in it

Still trying to air it out. Washed the removable rug. Cat still won’t go in it. Otherwise a good product.

    Great product!

    By on

This is working well for my 13 pound cat on my screened porch. It took him 3 or 4 days to decide to use it. I just put a few treats in each day, farther back inside each time. Now he loves it! When colder he stays on the heated part curled up. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that it isn’t very soft over the heated part, but perhaps it couldn’t be and still deliver the heat. I am very satisfied with the product.

Good but too small for us

    By on

This product is well made and stays fairly warm. My only issue is that my cat couldn't fit though the door. I had to unzip the whole end for her to get in. She is about 18 pounds.
