Seems best for outdoor use only
I purchased the elevated cot for 2 specific reasons: 1) To have a bed that’s not on the ground collecting a bunch of fur & 2) To help my dog sleep better during warmer nights. The bed has helped reduce the amount of fur gathering around my dog but he doesn’t necessarily have the best sleep. The bed is EXTREMELY loud when he adjusts himself. The material isn’t very comfy, it’s pretty stiff, hence the noise. I had to add a sheet so he could find some comfort on the bed. I’ve only used it indoors so I have a hard time sleeping when I hear him moving around which also suggests he’s not very comfortable. I will keep for future homes where I can take it outside. If you are looking for an indoor bed that doesn’t make any noise and is cozy/comfortable, this isn’t the best bed for your search. My dog is able to lay in it when it’s warm since it doesn’t collect heat and the mesh allows air flow. My dog is 60 pounds and there’s plenty of room for him. I bought a size large.
A good bed for dog recovery
Our old dog had a slipped disc and couldn't get up and walk on his own while recovering. He got a pressure sore right away. We switched to this bed from an orthopedic foam bed. Yes he had boy pee diapers and pee pads we had to use and put a base from a crate under the bed in case of overflow. Base from the crate a little smaller than bed. We cleaned and treated his pressure sore and it is healing and he did not get any more. We ended up getting 2 of these beds so one can be washed while the other is in use. He is now getting up and has started walking on his own so he is getting better. This bed did help a lot to make his injury more manageable while he got better. He is about 70 lbs so he wasn't easy to move. This bed has held up well and helped keep him dryer, it has worked well for us.
Not Big enough
This is the second one of these beds I purchased for my Chocolate Lab. The first one was a large size with the pad for comfort indoors, she loves that one. The second is a size medium I purchased for her for sitting on the deck so there isn't a pad. She Won't Touch It. The size is deceiving, with the bolster pad there isn't enough room for her to comfortably lay in it. Guess I'll have to donate to shelter, my bad!
Elevated Dog Bed
I was really nervous. I was afraid that she wouldn't like it. But sure enough she absolutely loves it! I have no problems getting her to lay in it while I was at work. This is a great addition to our household.
We have just purchase three of these beds because all our dogs wanted to be in the first we purchase at the same time. They love the idea of sitting higher and being off the ground as well as leaning against the bolster sides. We look forward to putting one one the patio when we are sitting out there to provide them with a cool place to hang out. These beds are very well constructed and very easy to assemble. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful raised bed.
6 month old found the weakness
It seemed durable at first My 6-month-old Setter gave it the test. On the 3rd day he figured out how to unzip the bolster. The Stuffing was removed and fabric torn at the stitching. 3 weeks later the setter found the weak spot as the bed was torn to shreds. $75 out the window.
Good so far
I received 2 of these dog beds a few weeks ago. I also ordered the Sherpa covers. It took my dogs about a day to get used to them once the covers came in. It was a bit of a struggle to get the fleece *and* the bolsters on. So far they’re holding up well despite the 70 pounder making flying leaps onto the bed. This was my first Chewy.com order. It won’t be the last. They had what I wanted, the price was right, the quality was good and the shipping and delivery was right on time. My only complaint is about the excessive number of emails I’ve been getting. I had to unsubscribe as I was receiving several each day. Just too much!
Elevated dog bed
My dog loves this cot I bought it with my large breed in mind and all of my dogs actually love it highly recommend easy to put together very comfortable for pets keeps floors and area clean
My dog loves this bed. I do put a soft blanket on it for her to lay on, but it’s winter and this is her garage bed. She only takes her naps on it when we’re out there. In the summer she lays on it as well but without the blanket. She likes to rest her head on the rails, so I highly recommend a bed with rails.
K&H Elevated Bolster Cot Dog Bed, Chocolate
I have two dogs who have regular foam filled pillow type beds that lay on the floor & after time they become flat. Both dogs used them all the time & the cover is removeable for washing but the dirt leaks through the cover & into the foam. Both my dogs love these elevated bolster cot dog beds! Easy assembly, easy to clean, feels sturdy, well made & being off the floor their elbows do not get the usual elbow rub hair loss. The bed has vented material for good air flow for better comfort. I feel it's better on their body & for their health. While putting the second bed together, I could hardly keep my GS off of it while still assembling & she immediately laid on it & both use them all the time. For a happier pet, get one for your fur baby.
