What is your self-warming material composed of?
The self-warming material is actually metalized plastic, similar to that in which you’ll find in space blankets. This metallic property basically allows the pet’s body heat to reflect back to your pet.
Could a self-warming product be used outside?
While our self-warming products are great for the indoors, they are not designed to return enough body heat for the cold outdoor temperatures of winter. Rather, they are designed to elevate the temperature of a pet bed that is already around room temperature.For outdoor pets, we recommend using the Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Bed, Lectro-Kennel, or Extreme Weather Kitty Pad. These are made for the outdoors and will provide enough heat for an outdoor setting during the cold winter months.

Cherry on top

Definitely aided in the warmth of my little man during the polar vortex. We brought him into our screen porch to build a nice warm structure for him and this item was literally the cherry on top that he loved. We did not use the cage/ den pictured but the size variations definitely came in handy with the other materials we used.

I have a cat colony, unsolicited , I have 5 nice dog houses which they share lined with straw and straw as a solid wind break. But when I put these pads on the ground and in the houses Rhey went right to them and loved them. I ran them thru the laundry today, cleaned up perfect.

Even though these are crate pads, I purchased them to put on the sill of a bay window that our cats have claimed as their favorite spot to watch the world go by. They fit perfectly, look alright and are large enough for two cats to lounge on.

Self warming Mats make for happy kitties

Our cats love their self warming mats. We started with one small one and then added a medium and then a large. The boys are very happy to share them and have even made the mats part of their play time, lifting up corners and trying to hide underneath. As with everything we've ever received from Chewy, these mats are a hit. Thank you again!

My fur baby seems to like it, but at first he wanted to ruff it up, like he does with his blanket. He doesn't do that anymore, thank goodness, so I assume that it's working. The colors worked perfect for me, brown for his bed in the kitchen area, and silver grey for his bed in my bedroom. This was an early Christmas present for him, and I think it would make a great gift for your fur baby, or for a friend's fur baby.

Dog ripped apart

Our 12 pound miniature schnauzer had this pad in her cage for 3 days and ripped three holes in bottom side and began pulling the stuffing out. Would not purchase again.... on the hunt for one she can’t ruin that fast, but still thin.

Bought for cargo flight

I purchased this to go into a petmate skykennel for a puppy to fly cargo. It fit fine, and was thick enough to give some padding and warmth to the hard crate floor. I have washed it and it still looks brand new.

I care for 2 feral & fixed cats. Its soft and warm. Its bigger than I expected (I guessed without measuring) but its perfect since it goes up the sides and back of the extra long tote that I made into an outside feral cat house! The cats started using it within a few days. Now they can be cozy together!

warming pad

was looking for a pad to keep barn cats warm. this works well inside of their enclosed crate and they huddle up on this pad for extra warmth. the cats like it and seem to be using it on a regular basis.

I bought this to put inside the k&h house I bought kitty. She's so warm now she only comes out to eat. I would highly recommend all k&h products. We've purchased heated pads,heated beds, house and now this. The cats and I are pleased.
