K&H Pet Products Thermo-Pond Perfect Climate Submersible Pond Deicer is a nifty device that’s designed to keep ice off of ponds during the winter months. Made with small and pre-formed ponds in mind, it can either be used as a floating deicer or as a submersible deicer! When used as a submersible deicer, it works great in all ponds that can hold up to 300 gallons of water and that are 18 inches deep or less. Gone are the days of using energy-draining 1000 to 15000-watt deicers because this one delivers just 300 watts!
This deicer is thermostatically controlled.
Delivers just 300 watts for low-power consumption.
Designed with inlets, so it can be used with water pumps or air pumps.
Won’t burn pond liners or pre-formed ponds.
Great for ponds that are 18 inches deep or less and that can hold up to 300 gallons of water.
This pond de-icer is designed for ponds up to 300 gallons and 18 inches or less in depth.
Already Frozen Ponds
If ice has already formed on the surface of your pond, drill a hole in the ice with an ice auger. Do not chop through ice as the shock waves can damage or kill your fish.
Then place your heater through the hole and run your cord to a properly grounded outlet protecting the cord from damage.
If you do not have access to an ice auger, place a large pan or bucket with water on the surface of the ice. Place your heater into the container and plug the heater into a properly grounded outlet. The heater will heat the water and container, melting a hole in the pond ice.
It doesn't work. I used it last night. I want to return and refund.
Lasted less then a month.

I was super excited to get this and so I got it a month earlier then I would have needed. So it sat in a box for about 5 or so weeks before I was ready to use it on the pond. I got it all set up and left it plugged in. When I came back 4 hours nothing had changed. So I pulled it up towards me to check if it was producing any warmth. (Keeping it under water) it wasn't. So disgruntled I unplugged it and probably am going to toss it out. Maybe it was a dud, maybe these just don't work. I really don't know.
Pond froze over

I bought this right before our first freeze. My pond froze over and feel this is not a good product. Luckily my fish survived.
