Description

Keep the water in your stock tank from freezing with the K&H Pet Products Ultimate Stock Tank Deicer. Great for keeping fresh water from turning into ice during the winter, it keeps a steady supply of hydration available for livestock and horses—without breaking the bank. The innovative design can be used as a floating deicer out of the box, or convert it to a submersible deicer in seconds with a click of the button! It comes with an ingenious cord safety clip that secures it to the edge of the tank, which prevents animals from chewing, cribbing or removing it.

Key Benefits
  • Keeps water from turning into ice so that livestock and horses always have a fresh supply.
  • Thermostatically controlled so that it will turn on and off as needed per the weather.
  • Can be transformed from floating to submersible in seconds by unscrewing the float ring from the top.
  • Will maintain a temperature of just above freezing and won’t damage liners or plastic tanks.
  • Includes the cage and cord clip to keep the power cord of your animal’s reach.
What's Included

Cord safety clip to secure the de-icer to the edge of the stock tank, bucket or container.

Instructions

The Ultimate Stock Tank De-Icer is only designed to be plugged in when it is submerged in water. It will not turn off automatically if there is no water. Never plug the unit in unless the heating element is completely submerged in water. Otherwise, the unit will be damaged.

To use your Ultimate Stock Tank De-Icer as a floating de-icer, use it with the float ring attached. To use it as a submersible de-icer, unscrew and remove the float ring.

The temperature of the heating element will depend on the temperature of the water. When submerged in water, the heating element doesn’t feel that warm to the touch, but it is designed to keep a stock tank from freezing over when choosing the correct deicer as per out zone chart.

    very reliable

Such an easy, affordable, and reliable solution for subfreezing temps. I bought a new one to keep as a backup for the same K& H Ultimate Stock Tank DeicerI I have already used for THREE winters.

    Trips breaker

    By on

Do not buy this product! I bought one in Oct 2018, and it worked for the winter of 2018-2019, but when I started using it again this winter (2019-2020) it tripped the breaker immediately after being plugged in. I bought a second heater in Dec 2019, and after three weeks, the new one started tripping the breaker.

    Works great!

    By on

We LOVE this tank heater! It is 500 watts less than our other tank heater (we purchased the 1000 watt of the K&H) and this heater always had the water tank 100% ice free even with negative temps plus wind. We damaged the foam over the summer on accident & the company just replaced it. K&H has wonderful customer service should you have to contact them. I'm not waiting until my other brand goes, I'm replacing it with a K&H.

    Ice Free 50g Tank

    By on

I bought this unit to try in a 50g Rubbermaid tank used by my horses. It works great! The clip was a nice addition as I was able to position the heater right where I needed it to be. I am using the 500W heater which according to K&H reference material is more than adequate for our climate in Oregon's Willamette Valley.

    amazing tank heater

    By on

Dealing with Wyoming winters it can get cold. Well this winter it was super cold. -40 for about 3-4 weeks. The tank heater kept up and never froze. Will defiantly buy again.

    Thermostat control

    By on

Product works good it's a 1500 watts unit... the packaging said its thermostaticaly control. Not a true statement. Their is no adjustment and when I asked what temperature the unit was set at they could answer the question. So that means the unit stays on continuously even if the ice is gone.

    Great Stock Tank Deicer!

    By on

I bought this a couple weeks ago & put it in a 720 gallon tank. It is obviously not meant to handle that much water but it did a great job of keeping the tank open. It kept over half the tank open in 19°F weather for two days in a row! Very impressed & happy with this purchase!

    Speedy at deicing

    By on

I got this a few days after we had low temps in the 20s and my 52 gallon livestock waterer was icing up badly. I put this on top of the ice, filled up the tank with water, and let it do its job. It had the water mostly unfrozen in a few hours. Works very effectively. Seems to have some important safety features as well.
