My almost 17 year old girl needed a new bed. (Even though she already has several around the house that she doesn't use.). She loves to den and be warm. I tried ordering her a self warming tunnel and a self warming bed with a cover, but she wouldn't go near them. I think the crinkle of the self-warming material didn't appeal to her. I read the reviews on this bed and decided to try it out. She didn't jump right in. I needed to lure her with some cat nip. But once she got in, she was hooked. It's so roomy. She can curl up in a ball or stretch out a little. She really loves it and is in it most of the day. I plan to order another soon so that she can have one in our upstairs bedroom and one on our first floor.
I should have just bought three at once, not one at a time. I wanted to replace the current cat condos that only one cat used with washable versions, which is what happens after you get fleas (possibly from the vet's office). Cat #1 immediately got in hers and said, "If you'd just given me your credit card number like I asked, I could have had this a long time ago. Now go away and let me snuggle in peace." She only comes out when she has to, because I refuse to feed her inside her kitty condo. Cat #2 I wasn't sure about. She's minus half her hair, thanks to Cat-a-Go Flea spot treatment, which gave her seizures and other medical problems that we're still working on (can I sue them?) But she immediately got in the condo, made some muffins, then curled up and looked at me and said, "Where has this been all my life?" She slept all night in her condo, warm and content for the first time since the horrible stuff made her sick. Then Cat #3 saw #2's condo, and I knew right then I should have gotten her one, too. Cat #3 is 15 pounds of fur and fun, and she fits in the condo just fine. The problem will be keeping her out of #2's condo until Chewy can get the third one here! And I have to wash it before giving it to her, because I wash everything new for safety. Machine wash unzipped on warm with a pet-safe detergent, like Seventh Generation Free & Clear, then machine dry on low or medium low. The condos come out great! Zip them back up and you have a clean and warm cat cave for your furbaby! To those who complained because the condos arrived flat: Wash and zip them up before using to regain shape. Easy-peasy. (And to the reviewer with the anxious kitty, try Feliway Plug-ins and/or Rescue Remedy Drops for pets. Both work great and are safe! And you can get them from Chewy!)
I have bought a similar looking bed before and my cat loved it so I thought this would be great. However it arrived bent and even after straightening it as much as possible, it was way too small. Even if it had arrived perfectly shaped it would have been too small. This would work for kittens, that is it.
Good quality bed for kitty. Takes a while for him to adjust but he is sitting on it when it is open. Runs through it like a tunnel too!
I bought this for my cat who loves blanket forts and tunnels. Unfortunately when this is opened to be a tunnel, one side caves in. I'm guessing this is because they are packed and stored flat... It does work great as a traditional cave bed, and the sides stay up when it is zipped closed, but I don't recommend if you wanted the tunnel feature to work.
My cat is a cave dweller and loves to snuggle up in this warm and comfortable bed! It's simply purrfect!
Quality pet bed. She can hide and not feel completely closed in. She loves it and so do I.
Very cute, nice sized kitty cave. Both my kitties enjoy it, but the little toy seemed to be a factor. I pinned it up on top and they are enjoying it more, now. It makes a good hiding place.
I need some help. My cat has lots of anxiety. I haven't been able to get him to investigate this house. Any suggestions. I did put a toy in it. I even threw it through the tunnel. Is this house for all year around? thank you.
I bought the unheated thermo cat cave to stop my 3 kitties from fighting over the 2 heated cat caves I had already bought. They loved the unheated cat cave just as much and now the growling and snarling has turned into quiet contentment.
