How much should 8 month old cats eat and when do they come off kitten food
Answer by samanthaJan 31, 2022
1/2-2/3 cups 2x a day is recommended for 8 month old. I usually have my cats on this food until they are around a year old.

I have a two year old cat and a 6 month old kitten, they like to eat from each other's bowls. Will kitten food make the older cat gain too much weight?
Answer by ChewyDec 23, 2017
We do not recommend feeding adult or senior cats a food made for a kitten. It will be formulated specifically for a kitten's nutritional needs and have more calories than a typical adult or senior food.

my Brainiac!

I actually buy this for my Ragdoll who just turned 3 ! He very seldom eats anything else. We think it's because of the smaller kibble and the shape. He refuses to eat rounded pellets, Any way he loves it. And he's by far the smartest little cat I have ever owned. I actually consulted my vet and she agreed, he's smart, healthy & happy so I'll keep feeding him this chow !

pebbles crushed with white granules on pieces

This large bag of food arrived with most of the pebbles crushed and small white granules attached to the remaining whole pebbles. It also smells different than the smaller bag we just finished. Checked date and it is good for another year. Did we just get a bad bag or batch? The kitten eats it but takes forever since most pieces are crushed. Hoping this is not making the kitty sick.

Purina Kitten Chow

I started feeding a neighborhood cat who was very thin and had what looked like mange. He has gained a lot of weight and his fur has greatly improved. I highly recommend this for adult cats who are very thin. Kitten calories do them well.

I bought the kitten chow for my visiting crows and other birds seem to enjoy it as well. When my grandcat is here I feed him the appropriate chow for his age he enjoys it. I've never had any problems with the Purina brand.

Purina kitten chow

As a breeder I try to feed my cats the best. Sometimes I can't afford to feed a high priced food. Purina has been around forever so I trust y cats are getting what they need.

Purrferred crunchy food

So we know that we really shouldn't give her dry food, but our evolving picky eater go-to food is this dry edibles. I think she likes to crunch things. Thanks, Purina..

My “go to” kitten kibble

I am a cat foster coordinator and Purina Kitten Chow has been my choice for first dry food for all the foster kittens. It’s well tolerated and they love it.

Great service

This has been the food my foster babies eat best. I’m always surprised how quickly they go through it. Chewy gets it to me so quickly.

Love Chevy's

I love it! Because some of my items are heavy and my husband can pick it up for me. It is just so convenient.

Works best for variety of foster cats

We keep foster cats for a variety of ages, from 4 weeks to 18 months. This particular brand seems to be favored by most, so makes a good choice to keep on hand.
