Fabulous product
This harness is the best I have ever used. I have a cat who scares easily and has slipped out of every harness I bought him and there are 6. Thus one stays and so does he. He tries to back out and because if the string Velcro and the hug around his tummy there was no way he got out the last time we went for a walk. We are ordering another one for our other cat too. She doesn’t scare easily but why take the chance when there is a product that will definitely keep her safe. Great product
SO EASY TO PUT ON!
My cat Parking Lot (Parker) has been yearning for the outdoors even though he's an indoor only cat. He's a bigger boy (15lb) so I was worried about the size but the medium/large worked perfectly for us. He's not the greatest at sitting still but I was able to get this one alone with ease and it felt pretty secure. The harness is kind of pricey for what you get but I would pay it again and more because he looks so happy to be outside:D.
Need more than one person to put on.
Ordered the S/M for both cats, since each has a 15" chest & 9" neck. Fit is satisfactory. 2 problems: (1) Siamese went into heavy panting fit mode after only 30 min in it. The temperature, mid-April, under 80 degrees F. This jacket harness appears to cause undue overheating in my Siamese. (2) Impossilbe for one person to undo the velcro on underside of the abdomen section.Took both hands to pull LARGE velcro strips apart, leaves no hand free, one person must secure the cat still while this is being done. squalling felines converted into Tasmanian Devils, wallowing on the floor. My tugging and pulling at velcro strips for so long, as I tried to pull them apart, and catching up their fur and skin in the process, was too traumatic."
Wonderful Harness
I love this harness! It is easy to get my babies in and out of. I don't have to worry about it pulling around their neck or hurting them. It seems very comfortable to them, but I worry about them getting too hot in it, especially during the late summer months. They have gotten used to the Velcro sound. One of my cats though figured out that if I am holding the leash and not paying attention, she can pull on the leash hard enough so that she can slip out the back of the harness.
Great little harness
We have had several harnesses for our cat - most of which he has grown out of. I liked this one because it was simple and straightforward. It is very adjustable (you can make it as snug or as lose as you would like) It keeps my cat very secure (he even jumped off a ledge - while on a leash and it stayed on) - which gives me peace of mind. I also like that any purchase you make from this company goes back to a charitable foundation that helps animals. A win-win!
Not perfect but better than most
I am trying to allow my cats to be outside and tied. This vest is much better than the first thin strap one. However with lots of work, she can still back out of it. If you are walking with cat, it is excellent Thanks
Good for a smaller cat
I have two cats, one with a more petite frame and the other more rotund. On the smaller cat, it was relatively easy to find a good fit but because this has very limited adjustability the larger cat must go without. On her, the neck is much too large but the chest portion is much too small, overall, just not designed with a tummy in mind.
Well-Made Product
This is my second purchase of this product. It is well made and durable. I have two cats that require supervision and control when outdoors. I am confident in this product will protect my cats.
SIZE RUNS SMALL!!
It looks really cute, but the small/medium size was more like a petite/small. Under his belly, the velcro part only touches about 1/3 of the way so it doesn't seem secure...I'd want more of the velcro to be connected than that. The neck is also a tiny bit small. This was (for me) an expensive mistake. There's now fur in the velcro and it can't be exchanged.
Love the Kitty Holster harness!
I now have two of these (in different sizes), and I think they are really outstanding cat harnesses. I've tried others but the Kitty Holster is the only one I would buy again. I use them for socializing feral cats, so I've never tried walking a cat outside with this (or any other) harness, but I walk them around the inside of the house. It helps me keep them from hiding behind sofas and such. These are well made, soft enough but still sturdy, and very easy to get on and off. My kitties look adorable in them, and importantly, my kitties are not bothered by the Kitty Holster. Even as socialization-in-progress feral cats, they give me no trouble about putting it on, wearing it, or taking it off. I bought the S/M size to fit a cat who is a trim and muscular 14 lbs and it is perfect for him. Highly recommend this harness!
