senior cat litter box.
By j0j0 on Feb 22, 2021
I’m posting a photo of how big this litter box is. I’m putting litter in it now. Fed ex just dropped it off. My older cat (18 years old) has been peeing in this corner every night. I think she’s having trouble getting in the taller covered box I have for her and my younger cat. She’s a very small cat so I’m not worried that this litter box isn’t big enough. The opening (lowest part) is on the long side of the box which will make it easier to use for her. She usually goes outside through a doggy door. Lately, she’s been peeing with an occasional poop in our hallway. I also got her some kidney safe food to try the vet okayed. When I took her to see the vet for something else, the vet told me she I’m posting a photo of how big this litter box is. I’m putting litter in it now. Fed ex just dropped it off. When I took her to see the vet for something else, the vet told me she’s probably suffering from kidney disease. That most older cats do have a lot of kidney problems. I didn’t want to put her through being stuck with needles. So I asked the vet to help me switch her to some specialized food. I’ll update the photo here once she uses the box. Between the better food and this low giant litter box She should be comfortable. Cross my fingers I won’t have a pee surprise waiting for me on the floor somewhere else! Wish me some luck. … more

Perfect for Amputees
By ATXCatMom on Feb 27, 2021
Bought this for our newly adopted cat. She is 8 years old and had an extensive amputation of her hind leg done after betting hit by a car (prior to us adopting her). Since she is still rehabilitating, she has a very difficult time navigating traditional litter boxes. She is able to easily navigate in and out of this box with no trouble. It is also very wide which gives her ample space to maneuver (she is not a small cat). I also foster kittens and can already tell that this is going to be great for litter box training of litters.

Elderly kitty solution
By Suzy2u25 on Feb 21, 2021
I have an older kitty with a damaged spine and she has difficulty getting in/out of “normal” litter boxes. I found a shorter box but then it was too small and she was doing her business over the edges of the box. I saw this particular litter tray and just knew it was the answer to our problem. She can now fit her wide self all the way inside the tray AND do her business INSIDE the tray: it’s a win/win situation. The added bonus is the lowered lip for easier entry/exit from the tray. Very very pleased with this product!

Great litterbox!
By Kira on Feb 19, 2021
I have a rabbit with arthritis and this litter box has been amazing for her! It's a great size for her to have lots of space and much easier for her to get into then her old box, yet still stops litter from getting kicked out. It's also a material that's super easy to clean! I'm really happy with this purchase and love that it's big enough when I get a second rabbit it's big enough to share. Also worth noting the animal shelter I volunteer at uses this litter box and it works great for litters of kittens to share too!

It's a nice sturdy box
By Melissa on Feb 18, 2021
I ordered this because my 16yr old keeps pooping on the carpet and rugs, thinking it was the old box (which has higher sides) I thought this one was going to be perfect for her.. unfortunately the sides are a tad too low :( and because she likes to dig to China the majority of the litter ended up out on the floor. So within a few hours I switched back :( it's a nice litter box, very sturdy.. maybe a cat that doesnt push litter around so much would appreciate it more :P Still give it 5 stars because it's a nice box.

Great for senior felines
By AlaskaMinxy on Jan 31, 2021
I have been struggling with our eldest cat, who will be 21 this year. Her arthritis prevents her from squatting in the box, so she was going just outside the box - it was too high to climb inside. Now with this low entry box, she basically walks right in. Not to mention the lavender color is beautiful. The downside is she doesn't always get her backside completely in and misses, although all four paws are in the litter. It's a catch-22. The other downside is our other cat loves to dig, so there's litter about 1 foot outside the front door. HA! It's a work in progress. We'll get it sorted out someday.

Hard to clean
By Whydoi on Feb 21, 2021
Love this box for the low entry and larger size. It’s great for my 17 yr old who suffers from arthritis. I don’t love how hard it is to clean. The surface is not ‘slick’ smooth, and scoopable litter gets glued to bottom and is very difficult to scrape off. I wish I saw other similar reviews first.

Great for older, multiple kitties.
By Bear on Jan 10, 2021
I have two 11 year old cats. My calico didn't like climbing completely in the box and often left poo on the side of the box and on the surrounding floor (unintentionally). After going through several styles (she did not like the contained or sided ones, either, and the problem continued.) I decided to give this Senior Box a try and it worked out perfect. Both my cats get in completely. Along with unscented, lightweight clumping litter and an extra large mat that hangs on to the litter on their paws as they leave, their Senior Citizen Mom has less to clean daily and the minimal change and wash is down to once a week. Thanks Chewy!

great choice for an older cat!
By MidwestCatMom on Feb 1, 2021
My newly adopted older cat came to me with some finicky litterbox habits that I’m still trying to decode. This is the 3rd litterbox I have tried and so far, it’s fabulous for my cat, and easy for me to scoop and clean!! The larger size is great and my cat has some arthritis so the lower entry point is super helpful. I would buy this box again, and highly recommend it!

Small Pan Low Opening
By Roxy on Jan 17, 2021
I ordered the small pan thinking the low opening was on the long side like the large pan. My fault for not looking at the small pan’s photo closer. The low opening on the short side is not working well for my elderly cat. The pan size is fine. A larger opening on the long side would work better. Will have to go back to a small regular pan. Just wanted to make sure other buyers really look at the small pan before ordering.
