I have 2 cats. One is an arthritic Senior and the other just turned one. I got the young one from my vets office. They give them little pans for litter boxes. She had a time when I brought her home. She would go, then walk around the outside of the litter box trying to cover her stuff up. I'm glad to report that she has plenty of room in this box to accomplish that task. I'm amazed that they haven't kicked sand out of the box to the floor.
Senior cat - this works

I have senior cats and their arthritis is getting bad. Recently, my furbaby couldn’t step up high enough to get into litter box. Peed right outside. I bought this one (opening is 1-1/2” lower than their previous box) and so far, so good. Uses less litter than a gigantically deep box, but that hasn’t proven to be a problem. My furbabies aren’t huge litter flickers, but it happens so... I had a shipping box that fit the litter box inside. Picture attached.

Not using this as a litter pan--but as a "bed frame" for our arthritic cat to hold her bedding in place. We have laminate flooring which can be quite cold at night in the winter and still quite cool in the summer. This "insulates" her kitty bed from the cold flooring. Additionally purchased the self-warming mat to place in her kitty bed for added comfort. The color is also a true lavender.
Took a bit to get used to

My senior catizen took a while to take to this box. She’d been having trouble climbing into her other box, due to arthritis. But after having it and the old box next to each other for a couple of days I noticed she was using both of them. I ordered the large size not realizing it was going to be so much larger than her other one. But she finally likes it enough to use. The lavender color was what I picked and it’s very pretty for a litter box.

My 16+ year old cat has advanced arthritis and had trouble getting in litter box. The lower entry - especially on the long side makes it very easy for her. It is a bit on the expensive side but well worth the money to help ease her pain of getting in/out of box.
Perfect for Amputees

Bought this for our newly adopted cat. She is 8 years old and had an extensive amputation of her hind leg done after betting hit by a car (prior to us adopting her). Since she is still rehabilitating, she has a very difficult time navigating traditional litter boxes.
She is able to easily navigate in and out of this box with no trouble. It is also very wide which gives her ample space to maneuver (she is not a small cat).
I also foster kittens and can already tell that this is going to be great for litter box training of litters.

I’m posting a photo of how big this litter box is. I’m putting litter in it now. Fed ex just dropped it off. My older cat (18 years old) has been peeing in this corner every night. I think she’s having trouble getting in the taller covered box I have for her and my younger cat. She’s a very small cat so I’m not worried that this litter box isn’t big enough. The opening (lowest part) is on the long side of the box which will make it easier to use for her. She usually goes outside through a doggy door. Lately, she’s been peeing with an occasional poop in our hallway. I also got her some kidney safe food to try the vet okayed. When I took her to see the vet for something else, the vet told me she’s probably suffering from kidney disease. That most older cats do have a lot of kidney problems. I didn’t want to put her through being stuck with needles. So I asked the vet to help me switch her to some specialized food. I’ll update the photo here once she uses the box. Between the better food and this low giant litter box She should be comfortable. Cross my fingers I won’t have a pee surprise waiting for me on the floor somewhere else! Wish me some luck.… more
Luv’in this Poopy Box

Wow! I had been through it all just trying to find the Xlarge cat boxes in the past and always had to settle for grey or off blue! But this litter box is undoubtedly the best litter box ever! Poop doesn’t stick to it or urine on the bottom because of the texture? I luv the choice of colors and think it’s worth every cent I paid for it! Thankyou Chewy for carrying this product.
This is a Godsend!!

I have an elderly cat who until this box would only pee on a weewee pad and would only poop on the carpet in my closet. It was a NIGHTMARE. This, along with Dr. Elsey's Paw Sensitive Multi-Cat Strength Cat Litter, changed everything. She is now pooping and peeing in this box and seems to be having no trouble. I am so relieved! Yes, she does kick litter out of the box (because it is pretty low to the ground), but that is miles better than the alternative.
Elderly kitty solution

I have an older kitty with a damaged spine and she has difficulty getting in/out of “normal” litter boxes. I found a shorter box but then it was too small and she was doing her business over the edges of the box. I saw this particular litter tray and just knew it was the answer to our problem. She can now fit her wide self all the way inside the tray AND do her business INSIDE the tray: it’s a win/win situation. The added bonus is the lowered lip for easier entry/exit from the tray. Very very pleased with this product!
