Would this work with dubia roaches and superworms?
Answer by ChewyJan 04, 2021
The Komodo Smart Dish is perfect for feeding giant meal worms, as the tall sides and lip prevent them escaping. It can also be used for smaller mealworms, fruits and vegetables, and other suitable food for your reptiles needs.

can it fit in a forty gallon tank
Answer by ChewyMay 28, 2023
We recommend comparing the measurements of your tank with the measurements of this smart dish for the best fit. The size of the dish is 22 x 14 x 18 inches (57 x 36 x 46 centimeters).

Way bigger than expected

This one was trial an error I was hoping it'd be smaller for leopard geckos and it's waaay to big. Will still try but not likely they'll use.

Great For Dubia Roaches

I have a bearded dragon who loves dubia roaches but I would never get them because they always found a way out of his old food bowl. I have had this bow for a day or two and I can safely say that no roaches have or ever will escape from this bowl! It is also easy to wash and rather large.

Not for smaller reptiles

It does a great job keeping mealworms in but unfortunately it also did a great job keeping my geriatric leopard gecko out. Might be ok for a young, spry leo but my old girl couldn't navigate it so, back to the old worm bowl.

A handy little product so the pet sitter doesn't have to touch the worms.

I got this as a vacation feeder for my toad, the Lady Isabella. Handling live feeder insects is just a bit much to ask of my pet sitter on the rare occasion that my husband and I get away for a vacation, and this was a nice solution to that. I leave some mealworms in the dish so that my gluttonous little Lady can have her food when she feels the need, and my poor sitter doesn't have to do more than make sure Isabella has enough water. It's shallow enough that even a fat toad doesn't get stuck in it, but its curved upper edges and smooth sides make it hard for mealworms to climb out. I'm glad someone came up with the idea.
