With soft plush on one side and rugged sisal on the other side, the KONG Cat Play Mat lets your cat lounge, play, and scratch. The crinkle sound arouses your cat's natural curiosity. You can add a pinch of catnip to encourage play or scratching.
Crinkle sound arouses your feline's natural curiosity.
Ultra-soft plush on one side and rugged sisal on the other for versatile play surfaces.
The Active Cat Play Mat is great for lounging and scratching.
Provides a great surface for a sprinkle of catnip to encourage play.
We own 2 of these mats. Our 2 cats think these are great lounging mats! Initially we rolled our 2 mats and then they flattened out well. Yes, they can be considered on the small size but our 1 large & 1 medium cat think they are A OK! Recommend.
Cat not responding to cat nip
on Mar 19, 2018
For those having issues with your kitty not playing with it even with cat nip, get some liquid cat nip. I use all types of cat nip. My kitties are picky and each likes different ones. They really like the cat nip bubbles. Plus the liquid cat nip isn't messy like the other one and most of mine prefer the liquid, the others like to roll around in the other one and eat it. I sometimes add the regular cat nip to their food, sometimes they don't like certain canned food and this encourages them to eat it.
Too tiny for my giant cats!

Too small for my giant cats. They will sniff it and move on to something else. Okay product. More suited for kittens.

I guess I didn't read the description very well. This is really small - about one sq. ft. total.
Other than size, it's OK.
Not for us

This would probably be awesome for kittens, but my gang of 5 adults all gave it a pass. It's also much smaller than it looks.
Wish it would stay flat...

I bought this as a replacement for a very similar mat that my dog got hold of and chewed up. It's not quite as durable, and it doesn't lay flat. On the other hand, my little kitty jumped on it right away and started scratching at it - so I guess she approves! My big kitty, who wasn't big on scratching the previous mat, isn't interested in scratching this one either - but he seems to like the crackly sound and rolls around on it. Other than the fact that it seems to shift around a lot, it's a thumbs (er...paws) up!
I like it; cats don't

You'd think that with six cats, somebody would like playing with this. Nope. I'm the only one who thinks it's neat. Sorry, Kong, can't recommend.
Mat far too small
on Sep 27, 2017
I agree wt the other posters. Wish it were larger. A red cat play mat works perfect in my bathroom. Still this product is far too small. My kitchen table mat is 19" long. Who one needs a 14 1/2" by 17" floor cat play mat? Now if this was 16" by 24", I'd give it 5 stars.
Cats love it...but I wish it was larger

I have two cats one that is 20 lbs and one that will eventually be that big. They both love the mat but it isn't big enough for both of them to play on.

It's too small and won't lay flat at all. My cats sniff it every once in awhile and play with the strings on the corners but they're not at all interested in laying on it or playing with the crinkly part.
