KONG Solutions

KONG encourages dogs to focus energy on healthy engagement, helping prevent unwanted behavior by providing a mentally stimulating, physical challenge that keeps dogs occupied and mentally challenged.

KONG Stuffing

Did you know that anything that is safe for a dog to eat is safe to stuff into a KONG? Here's how:

STUFF: Stuff loosely for beginners or tighter for more advanced users (w/KONG Snacks or your dog's favorite kibble).

ENTICE: Use a tasty appetizer such as KONG Easy Treat or peanut butter.

ENRICH: A stuffed KONG offers mental and physical enrichment.

EXTEND: Want to extend playtime? Freeze for a longer-lasting challenge.

Great busy toy, but careful with sizing!

I love this product for my hound mix (and other dogs) however according to the size chart, this is his appropriate sized kong. Way too small for him. Unfortunately this kong will go to a small dog sibling of his and I will be ordering a new larger one for him. Great toy to keep him busy with snacks when in his crate but watch sizing when ordering!

Dogs say "meh"

When we put a treat in this thing, the dogs fought over it till the treat was gone. Then they ignored it. It's the second time we've tried a Kong. The first time, the dog cared so little for it that we forgot we had one. I'm sure it's a fine product -- if your dog likes it.

Was not durable enough for my rough chewer

I just adopted a dog from the shelter and she loves to chew. I got 2 of these, 1 for her and 1 for my male dog. Made them a little treat inside of it… My new girl was able to rip this toy into lots of pieces within an hour. For the price you pay for KONG toys I feel like it should last way over an hour… Went with some bully make toys which are still all in one piece; for not that much of a price difference. I wish I would have kept it to attach a photo, but I picked up all the pieces and it went straight in the trash.

Useful for surgical recovery

I bought several of these ahead of time for a dog who had an orthopedic surgery with long recovery planned. They've been oh so useful. I make up a mixture of wetted kibble mixed with canned food and peanut butter, stuff the kongs and freeze. I reduce his meal amounts by the amounts I stuff into the Kongs. He gets one stuffed Kong after breakfast, and one in the evening. I remove them when they're emptied and give other items like smoked bones, yak milk chews, favorite crinkle toys, and lead walks, rotating this way so he maintains interest. It's tough with a long orthopedic surgery recovery ( 3 months) for a puppy, the Kongs are a real help with this.

Not tough enough for avid chewers...

Lasted longer than the bone....about 1 day. I only give to my dog for short periods when filled. 50lbs lab mix, 17months old. As soon as she got all the treats this time, she started chewing on the kong and in about 20 minutes this time, she began destroying it. She is. Ever left unattended with it and only short periods of time so this lasted for only a handful of sessions. Get the black.

Tough toy for big teeth!

Bought two of these for a mastiff and bull dog. I stuff them with either peanut butter or yogurt and then freeze them. Keeps my dogs busy for a very long time. All the effort wears them out as well.

Not good for dogs that chew

I thought I would try the red kong to see if it would work for my dog. She had chunks out of it in less than 10 minutes. Looks like I should stick with the black ones that last about a month. Unfortunately I bought two other red kong toys, hopefully I can return them or I will donate them to the Humane society of manatee county.

Great Replacement for Bully Sticks

We recently stopped buying bully sticks when the price doubled. We now fill with canned food and a few snacks or kibble and they love them for the nightly treat. They are durable and last for years. There is no wear and tear on the ones I've had for 10 years. I just wanted to make more at a time and put into the fridge.

Kong Favorite Treat

I love these toys! My bully is a power chewer but also is very treat motivated. He loves it full or empty. He even completely empty Tucker smaller one out once he’s had enough. Once it’s empty he chew on them to help go to sleep. We have tons of things to stuff them with so it’s the best toy ever. Will definitely keep them around.

prefers the red to the black

My new rescue dog is an enthusiastic chewer so I got her a couple of different Kong toys to try out. She's medium sized and rather anxious. She seems to find the black one too tough to enjoy (unless I put cheese spray and treats in it) but she enjoys chewing on the red one all by itself. Not sure how long it will hold up. Still waiting to see about that.
