Useless as a "comfort cone"
This was an epic fail! The size of the "cone" is so tiny that it's basically just a neck pillow. And a larger size would slip right over her head even at the tightest. So it's useless at any size. Maybe this works for certain dogs with specific shapes (very short legs, skinny necks and big heads like maybe a Corgi?) but I would guess it doesn't work for at least half the dogs out there. Hopefully we can return it or I'll be wearing the "Cloud Collar" on my next flight!
Kong lasted 2 days
Dillon is a 62 LB, 1 year old English Cream Golden Retriever who just had his Neuter surgery so I bought him a Kong Cloud Collar to be nice. He loved his comfortable collar much better than the big plastic one that the Vet put on but Gator (Dillon's brother) didn't appreciate it & helped Dillon remove it & tear it to shreds while I slept on the second night of putting it on him.
Very Well Made, but XL Sizing Off
I have a large male GSD. I measured his neck to be 23 inches around. Unfortunately, the two ends on the XL donut (20-25 inches) do not come close to meeting. If I pull the velcro strap snug, it will limit his breathing. It's very well made and seems like it would work- being much more comfortable than the cone. I like the idea of a soft donut. I'll will keep it anyway in case my other dog should ever need it. I gave it 3 stars as I would recommend the XL for a smaller neck.
It keeps your pet from aggravating hot spots, sores, wounds.
Our female dog was spayed and fitted with a typical Elizabethan collar. She could not navigate with that on and was constantly opening it up when running into things. We found this Kong brand collar, ordered it one day and had it the next day. It works! And is comfortable.
Perfect for tiny puppies
When we needed to keep our puppy from scratching per doctors orders we just couldn’t use one of those ill fitting cones that can be uncomfortable as well as an escape challenge for smart pups who want to be Houdini. This was like a little cloud pillow that worked wonders
More comfortable than a cone, but less affective
I was hoping to avoid putting my newly neutered dog in a cone, so I bought this. However on day 3 or so the donut became slightly deflated, which allowed my dog to reach his wound and lick. His sutures popped out and we had to go to the vet er. He is ok, but it would have us the headache by just going straight for the cone. Maybe if your dog is more chill (not a 1 year old lab) this can work.
Chewy Comes Through Again
Following emergency surgery, my Golden Retriever kept trying to scratch and lick the surgical areas. Her e-collar was not 100% effective, plus it kept injuring myself as she bullied her way through things. The kong is so much more comfortable for her and a life saver for me (multiple bruises on my arms/legs are healing). Chewy met my needs in a timely manner as always and we (the dog & I) are now on the mend.
Great e-collar
Our dog has ulcers in his eyes. Daily drops are required. This collar works great to keep him from rubbing his eyes. Plus unlike traditional e collar he does not run into every doorway and furniture. Plus comfy pillow like when he is resting. Perfect alternative to help him heal.
Got a hole in it and even with a fox keeps deflating
I got this collar for my beagle who has been constantly licking and before the collar got a hole and then constantly wouldn't hold air even after I patched the hole it did work. However, how easily it got a hole does not make me a fan of paying 22 again for it.
CAN WITHSTAND ANYTHING
Recently we have been having issues with our horse pal Eli. He’s been having trouble walking/keeping his legs straight. He’s fallen on these inflatable collars about 20 times now and you couldn’t even tell!!! 1000000% recommend this product!!!
