Are the Kong dental stick size large (the red one) and Kong’s puppy teething stick size large (the pink/blue one) the same size? I can’t tell the way the dimensions show when comparing the two, or from pictures. My dog has the puppy size large and am hoping to size up with the adult size. Thanks!

The KONG Dental Stick Dog Toy and KONG Puppy Teething Stick Dog Toy are the same sizes. The only difference is the toughness of the rubber material.

does it last for long, she a a labwith a love of dental sticks Suzie
Answer by ChewyNov 04, 2018
This is made out of a durable, natural rubber. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

which size dental stick for a 23 lb dog? (She is a F1 longhaired chiquaqua x beagle).
Answer by ChewySep 15, 2020
The Small is suitable for dogs up to 20 pounds, the Medium is suitable for dogs between 15-35 pounds, and the Large is suitable for dogs between 30-65 pounds.

my dogs range from 60-80lbs...should I get the medium or large size?

The Large KONG Dental Stick Dog Toy would be suitable for your dogs.

Love Chewy!

I couldn’t find this toy anywhere and was panicking cause it’s his favorite toy. Then I needed to order his food and I found the toy. I should have checked chewy first, they always have what Turbo wants.

great for my cat!

cat toys are really fragile and mine breaks them apart right away. I 100% recommend this in a small size for cats that like to chew. This toy and the one shaped like a Jack/X are awesome for kitties.

Built like a Kong toy.

Provided for our mini Dachshund puppy who is a chewer at this stage. Kong toy is doing well.

Not good for even the average chewer

I love Kong products. I wanted to love this toy to add to my dogs' chewy toy collection, but this didn't last 5 minutes. I should have listened to other reviews/pictures showing chunks taken out of this toy before buying. My dog is an average chewer, not a super chewer by any means and I didn't feel comfortable keeping this toy with him even supervised for longer than 5-10 minutes. Buyer beware, I think this would not be suitable for most average adult dogs who like to chew.

Dogs love them

My 30lb dogs love these. I bought them to keep them occupied. I spread pnt butter into the ridges n it keeps them busy licking them

Decent toy that could benefit from one simple improvement

I bought this to replace other hard nylon chews for my dog to have under supervision and he was obsessed with it over a full hour. He didn't manage to chew any small pieces off, but there are some tears along the middle grooves that I know will eventually break off. This is a much safer chew toy compared to the harder Benebones/Nylabones as dogs can't crack a tooth or make their gums bleed after chewing on it for a while. Once this one gets a bit more beaten up, I'll likely buy the larger size to see if that can prolong its usability for my medium sized dog. As for improvements - I REALLY wish Kong would make a version of this toy using their extreme/black rubber like they do for puppies. The design of the toy does a good job at stimulating the teeth and gums, and I think the stronger rubber would be a significant improvement for many dogs. It doesn't need to be indestructible (no toy ever is) but as my dog will happily chew on his classic/red rubber kong without it tearing, it's not like I bought the wrong durability option.

doesn't hold up

Well, it's a kong toy, so I figured it would hold up to my year old pup's attempt to destroy anything handed to him. Unfortunately, he had chunks torn off of this within 10 minutes. If you have a dog who just carries toys around, or licks treats out of the nooks of stuff like this, then maybe this is fine. But if you have a dog who chews, especially if trying to get at the treat you hide inside, then get ready for little bits of red rubber (or whatever the toy is made of) to litter your floor. And, if you have a dog who's a walking intestinal blockage waiting to happen like mine, then get ready to pry their jaws open to retrieve the little pieces before paying your vet to. Kong normally hits it out of the park with their toys, but this one is a disappointing waste of money.

Not for real chewers

I generally like the Kong toys since they seem to hold up - well, some of them. Because of the ridges, this stick/toy does not hold up , with pieces being chewed off and swallowed. It’s also difficult to clean. My 20 lb puppy who just had her adult teeth, did this. In the pic, you can see the crack in the end, where the piece was just ready to be torn off. I don’t have a pic of the side where she actually tore the piece off since I threw it out!

My dog loves this

I have a Bull Terrier with powerful jaws. Buying those rope/string pull toys don’t last a week. Before long it’s torn up or digested half way. Still have this after 3 days. So, so far so good. Only one small piece has come off.
