Dogs Need to Play
A dog's physical and mental development are influenced by a healthy, instinctual need to play. Built for durability, KONG dog toys encourage play and offer enrichment, meeting this natural need to play.
KONG encourages dogs to focus energy on healthy engagement, helping prevent unwanted behavior by providing a mentally stimulating, physical challenge that keeps dogs occupied and mentally challenged.
Did you know that anything that is safe for a dog to eat is safe to stuff into a KONG? Here's how:
Stuff: Stuff loosely for beginners or tighter for more advanced users (w/KONG Snacks or your dog's favorite kibble).
Entice: Use a tasty appetizer such as KONG Easy Treat or peanut butter.
Enrich: A stuffed KONG offers mental and physical enrichment.
Extend: Want to extend playtime? Freeze for a longer-lasting challenge.

I just bought 8 new kongs from chewy to replace some 15+ year old ones. Apparently the rubber degrades over time (is it latex?) and my new dog was able to wreck the ancient ones. Why did I buy 8 kongs? Because you spend 5 minutes a week putting treats and peanut butter in them and throw them in the freezer, and now you have a week's worth of time consuming treats and don't have to spend the time preparing them every day. I give them every time I leave the house to distract my dog from my leaving, so these end up being much cheaper than other chews over time. You can also soak their dry food in some water, put that in the kong, and freeze it. It makes them work for their food which is stimulatingI just bought 8 new kongs from chewy to replace some 15+ year old ones. As for the sizes, if you get a small one for your puppy, make sure you get rid of it once they grow. Even a 40lb dog can swallow one of the puppy sized ones which is obviously really bad!! I got mediums, which are fine for my 40lb dog but I should have gotten larges I think. She can't quite get all the peanut butter out because the hole is too small to really get her tongue in there.
My old dog was 70lbs and I had large kongs which were perfect. Many, many brands of treats fit properly into the hole making it just easy enough for you to put the treat in but hard for them to get the treat out. So consider that when deciding. Large = lots of treats fit well into the hole. Medium, go with peanut butter and freeze it.… more
I was surprised...

I read mixed reviews for this Kong product, so I was anxious to purchase this for my husky. I was disappointed because I expected the product to be bigger than what it actually is (my fault for not reading how much the toy measured). However, I do give it 5 stars because my teething puppy absolutely loved it! I washed it, threw it in the freezer, and she was all over her new toy!
purchased two large and xl large

purchased two for my dogs . They love them .The only problem I have now is the fact that I was going to give it to them while I was not home but they like them so much I'm afraid they will fight over them while I am gone . I have not had the kongs long enough to know if they will hold up but so far its a great hit in my house . Its a little messy but I just put a sheet down

Our Boston Terrier LOVES this Kong! He loves it so much we now keep one extra as back up in the event one gets lost. We don’t stuff this with any food- it’s a toy we use for fetch (the shape makes for unpredictable bouncing) and Bruno will spend time just chewing on it (it makes a silly popping sound...not sure how Bruno makes that happen).
Bruno is a power chewer and this Kong is highly durable.

I had ordered my cocker/beagle the red lg. kong. Well, she chewed that thing up in less than 5 min. so I called to tell them that the red one just wasn't going to work. I didn't have to send anything back, they simply replaced it with a new heavy chewer one (black). I never considered my girl to be a heavy chewer but I guess I was wrong, I think this one will work just fine. She has had it for a couple of weeks and all I see are tiny dents, not even close to being torn up. I just love Chewy.com.
Perfect for Heavy Chewers

My Husky-Shepherd mix is nicknamed the destroyer-of-toys. The extreme kong is one of the few toys that lasts. Other Kong extreme products have not held up but this keeps going and going. Generally, if I am ordering it's only because one has gone missing. I don't give an endorsement often but I would put my endorsement behind this product without hesitation.
The only toy not destroyed!

Our labradoodle, Gronk, has gone through many many toys and destroyed them all! Kong recommended the black colored toy is better than the red one which he chewed! It’s a little big for him but he does play with it at times. He prefers soft toys! But he hasn’t destroyed it at all so far! Good for strong chewers!

Molly is a 10 yr. old chocolate lab with one toy. This Kong Extreme dog chew is the only toy I've ever bought her that she did not destroy in minutes! Soft toys have their stuffing and squeaks removed in minutes. I even bought her a Kong chew for "large" dogs. She turned it into a pile of red rubber bits in TEN minutes. I timed it! I wasn't very optimistic when I ordered it, but this was money well spent. She loves this toy. She did finally pull off a few pieces around the opening in the bottom, but it took her HOURs of happy chewing to do so. I highly recommend this chew toy if you have a dog who also loves to chew large sticks, rocks, and other weird stuff. It is nearly indestructible.
Great for puppy power chewers

We bought these to replace the red kongs our mini doxie puppy is teething and started picking the ends of the red kong off and the rubber pieces were a concern. Kong brand is amazing the black kong is perfect for his little needle teeth. We first thought he wouldn't play or eat out of it because of the size and density of it. After he was introduced to the red kong and defeated it , he loves the black one and it holds up to the challenge!!!
Dogs liked it

I bought 2 of these, I for 2/3 dogs. I couldn't believe the price! Our local petsmart sells one for $15.99 and I paid like $8?! They do get the stuff out of the center pretty quick, and I wanted my young guy to spend more time with it. But overall great product and ya cant go wrong with chewy prices!
