I have in the past bought the Kong Fox. Actually, it seems to be my 1 yr. old labs favorite so I've bought many because as much as Riley seems to love it, it does eventually need replacing. I think Riley thinks he is on a fox hunt so when he has it, he feels the need to kill it. ha, ha I was hoping that the hippo would last as long as the fox always did but it didn't. I gave it to him on Christmas evening and two days later, both squeakers had been removed(yes, I threw those right away) and all of the stuffing. He is quite the chewer though. So, the only thing left is body parts, minus the ears. lol That's why I only gave it a 4 star rating. If you want one to last, I would say definitely go for the fox one. I haven't given him the bunny one yet. I thought I would wait for awhile.
My 1 year old pointer Tuula loved this toy for 3 days. It is now in the trash because she found the squeaker. The nose of the hippo was easily accessible for her. Great toy if your dog doesn't have a thing for squeakers. Unfortunately, mine now finds squeakers fascinating and accessible. I fear for the rest of her Christmas presents.
I have always like Kong toys because they seem to hold up. Got this toy for my Aussie for Christmas and in less than 10 minutes, it was completely destroyed! Such a waste of money and I am SO disappointed in Kong for putting their name on a piece of junk.
We've had this exact toy for a year know and are just now having to replace it. My dog is a cattle dog/pit bull mix so she's a pretty aggressive chewer and this toy stood up to her for a year!
We have had several of these Kong Floppy Knot toys, and our dogs just love them. They are great for the dogs to play tug with one another or with us. They lost a super long time even with one of our girls being destructive.
It was destroyed really quick. This is from the same afternoon Jackson was given the toy. The next day the remains were all over the house. Jackson is a year old vizsla and average size and biting dog.
Usually, Kong toys do well with our chewers and players . . . sadly, not this one . . . and we thought Hippos were the real king of the jungle!
I have a female who destroys fluffy toys very quickly. However while she decides to allow them to live, she really loves them. This toy is the perfect toy for her. It is mostly rope with just enough fabric to fell like a stuffed toy. She gets the softness of a stuffie with the chewing relief of the rope. We’ve had it two weeks and so far she’s only undone one tiny section of one of the hands. That’s just amazing!
We have a 25 pound, two year old, puppy. Regi is a serious chewer. His goal is also to desqueek, and destuff every stuffed toy! He is very good at it! This is our 3rd Floppy Knot toy. Floppy Knots are the closest thing to indestructible! Happy Mom, happy family!
My dog loves these but beware of the hippo ears. My dog tore one off in less than an hour of play and would have eaten it if I hadn't intervened. Otherwise, nice toy. Great for individual or interactive play. The rope inside is a nice touch.
