Description

Watch your canine companion enjoy playtime with KONG Gyro Dog Toy. This irresistible toy entices and intrigues your pal with its rolling and flipping motion. It encourages your furry friend to push, paw and roll the toy around since it’s made with a center spinning orb and static outer ring for hours of enjoyment. Also, the more he pushes, paws and rolls, the more treats will come out for him to savor. The orbiting figure toy supports hours of independent play, so you can go back to completing your own duties. Plus, it’s available in small or large, so you can pick the best size for your pal.

Key Benefits
  • Entertaining roll and flip action encourages playtime and promotes tons of healthy exercise.
  • Gradual treat-dispensing toy for extended playtime so your pal can play longer.
  • Fun, erratic rolling makes this the perfect interactive toy, so you can push it around on the floor and play with him too.
  • Unique see-through ball also promotes mental stimulation since the treats make noise while rolling the toy around.
  • Easy to screw the top off and add all the treats your heart desires.

Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

  • Bought a small/med? one a few yrs ago

    By on

From a petstore... at the time my TerrierX was super anxious and my smarty pants Chihuahua was extra chunky, so interactive food bases toys are great for them. This is one of the biggest fails. Chi just flipped it over after getting frustrated at being unable to spin it the way he wanted... my TerrierX just got frustrated and gave up on it intil she saw how "fat boy" got the treats out, then she'd just flipped it over and over getting the treats out faster than him... still have it in case I ever find a pup it DOES work well with. I often thought it may work better off carpet, but don't have a good spot for that in my hom currently. Nice idea, sturdy design... but not good for us.

  • Not what I expected from Kong!

    By on

Bought this for my 9 month old English Mastiff who is very destructive when it comes to toys. I bought it strictly because Kong is known for durability. He bit right through the outer ring! After a few hours of play, he had nearly torn the ring away from the ball. Second Kong toy I've bought that he destroyed in no time.

  • My Dog Loves It.

    By on

Eevee really loves this toy. She took to it right away. It does get dented by teeth fairly easily. This will be a supervised toy that will be taken out on occasion to keep her interest. I love it and I'm glad I purchased it. I got the small size for my 24lb dog.

  • Don't Waste Your Money, Bad Design

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I did not purchase this on Chewy website but at one of their stores. I have the Wobbler, my dog loves it so I went in search of something new, the Gyro. The big issue with this toy is the center spinning ball only spins one direction. So if your dog attempts to push it against the way it pivots, he just flips the whole thing over and gets all the treats. It's really the dumbest design I've ever seen. Not only does it not smoothly spin the way its supposed to but it only spins back and forth not side to side, my cat figured this out so pretty much every dog should. DON'T waste your money on this toy

  • So far this toy is a hit!

    By on

I got this toy from our vets office. I have 2 GSD's and they love this toy! I have Buster Cubes for them too and now that I have experience with both I must say these are much quieter! Unlike other reviewers mine spins freely, and I haven't had any issues with it. It kept them busy for about a half hour. When it was mostly empty I took it away so they wouldn't chew it up. If one does break I wouldn't hesitate to order a new one!

  • Easy to figure out, but a fav

    By on

This toy was one of the first interactive treat dispensers I purchased for my pup. She figured it out quickly, but after four months of use, it remains her favorite. She will push it with her nose, flip it over with her paws, and pick it up and throw it. It has held up well, but she uses it as it is designed to be used.

  • Not for a chewer

    By on

For a Kong toy, this didn't hold up well. My dog decided if she chewed the outer ring she could get to the center quicker. We ended up popping the ball out of the ring and throwing away the ring (or what was left of it). She still plays with the ball, though, and hasn't chewed it apart.

  • Fun toy for both my dogs

    By on

I have a young dog of 2 1/2 years that absolutely loves the small Gyro and also the larger one I bought. Her mother who is 5 1/2 years is kind of timid with toys, but she starting to get the hang of pushing the Gyro around and getting the little puppy treats that I have inside. It’s an interactive toy And I think anyone who purchases this would be happy.

  • My girl likes this toy.

    By on Top 500 Contributor

Although my girl figured it out fast, it keeps her busy & entertained for a while. I wish the ball rotated in all directions, but maybe by not doing so it makes the challange a bit more difficult. My girl likes it, has fun with it & that is what matters.

  • Chewed through within minutes

    By on Top 10 Contributor

I was hoping for more from a kong toy. Within a few supervised play bites to this toy bits of plastic were coming off. Not for any kind of hard chewer.. maybe okay for older dogs or one that will not try to bit the toy at all. Not what I was hoping for. Kong wobbler is much a much option.
