Place dog's paw on a paper with their full weight on the paw.
Mark the end of the longest toe nails and down the back of the leg. Do not measure fur.
Measure the length and refer to the size chart.
These are great, easy to put on, he could walk correctly from step one. The only issue is they should be 1 size for front feet and smaller for rear feet.
I think it's pretty cool that these are available for our 4 legged fur babies but they are obnoxious to keep on.. if there are any tricks to help keep on and to keep them from sliding that would be great!! I would definitely change the rating..
Bought the size as recommended for my dogs feet; however, these are too small to stay on. The Velcro strap is too small to really hold onto the dogs feet and flies off. Pretty useless item and expected much better from kong!
Not big enough sizes, for my med/large boys. Bought them and now they are chew toys.
My dog doesn't want anything on her feet, doesn't like to wear them. So, we just don't go for the long walks we are accustomed to do. Either we take her to the mall early in the morning or go out at 5:30 am in our neighborhood. But I like them!
We've had these for a week, and we are JUST starting to get the gang of them. They are hard to get on, and VERY hard to make stay on; the fabric is really too thick, and the cut out "v" meant to allow tightening is entirely the wrong shape. The strap that tightens on the ankle to hold them on is placed ok for the back feet, but on the front feet it hits far too high, such that no matter how tight you get it, the boots are going to slide till that strap hits the actual thinnest part if the ankle, meaning the boot is half off and flapping everywhere. Still, the neoprene is pretty thick, so even though they are awkward and poorly fit, they do still offer some protection from snow. Definitely a "city streets only" boot, hiking with these would be actively dangerous.
Hi - I wanted to like these, as every other Kong product I've purchased has been very well designed and well made. However, the way these are designed, the foot bed isn't really made to fit a dog's foot, or at least not my dog's foot. Additionally, they started to rip after only a couple of weeks - and only wearing them occasionally when needed - on city sidewalks.
Bought these booties for winter use, but they don't stay put on our dog's feet. The velcro strap is too high so the booties just slowly slide off her feet and flop around. They would work better with an ankle strap. The footprint of the boot fits her feet, so its not a matter of wrong sizing.
they do not fit my maltese although they are small and are too heavy and fall off. I cannot use them and will be returning them to chewy. Awful and disappointed. I see everyone had this problem below.
My lab would limp on a walk in snow. Not sure if it’s the salt or ice forming in between his pads. Decided to purchase these boots but unfortunately he doesn’t like them and won’t keep them on!
