Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.
Our 2yo super chewing doberman LOVES all of his wubbas. He has several. They have all held up well, so when I noticed a "mega" wubba I had to get it for him. He opened it Christmas morning along with about 20 other toys and 20 bags of treats, so he was trying to play with everything all at once. However, he always made sure to keep the mega wubba within paws reach. He did puncture the big "ball" that makes up the body within 24 hours, but it still has some air and is perfect for him to chew and whip around. Despite the ball losing a little air I gave it five stars, because other than wubbas not many toys outside of the one's he receives in his Super Chewer Bark box last. So if your dog likes wubbas and even if they chew up toys, this is worth the investment.
It's huge. But, the regular Wubba has that core in it that's the standard Kong toy that you can put peanut butter into. I don't know (yet) what this core is made of, but it's mushy. And it's huge. I have a German Shorthaired Pointer that's a chewing monster, and in less than 7 hours, he had gotten through the fabric on the body of this. I could have gotten a regular Wubba for $20 less and he'd have had just as good a time with it, and I'd have a peanut butter ball thingie afterward.
The inner ball broke right away and our Labrador chewed through in a day. Not worth the money at all
My 2 year old coonhound and my 4 month old puppy both love this toy. It has held up to lots of tugs and chews. Buying another one
just received today after 5 mins out of box this is what happened
I have purchased smaller Kong wubba toys for my smaller dogs and they were great. I purchased the mega for my 97lb Great Dane mix and he had it flat in less than 2 mins. I would not recommend this for aggressive chewers, disappointing.
Have had Wubba for years. My precious gentleman dog never destroyed anything. Now my current 76 lb GSP ruins everything. He is now 6 years old and poor Wubba has lost its small ball and all but one leg. The new one is put away until this one’s imminent demise
Our Rottie loves wubbas but he tears them up so fast. I thought ordering the Giant Wubba would give him something to play with for a while. It lasted about 30 minutes. Wish i could find something more substantial.
I have purchased several of the XL and L size Wubba's and am very pleased with their construction, performance and longevity. I inadvertently ordered the Mega Wubba and was initially surprised by its size. When laid side by side it absolutely dwarfs the XL. Once my 100lb GSD started playing with the Mega it was clear that the construction of this Wubba was a lot different than the rest of the product line. The main body had some sort of bladder inside that my dog made short work of and within the first couple of hours it was completely flat. The exterior held up well like the other Wubba's. I wouldn't but another Mega but wouldn't hesitate to buy another XL Wubba. My guess is that the difference in construction was due to weight limitations if the Mega was just a larger version of the XL. As big as it is it would probably weigh +5 lbs if it was built like the smaller versions.
I bought this toy for my 10 month old English Mastiff. When you hear the name Kong, you immediately think of tough ever-lasting dog toys. The Wubba does not live up to that standard. It lasted less than a week before my puppy chewed off the top ball. Would not recommend this toy to any large or giant breed dog.
