Wow, I saw this toy on another website raved about as a hit in the kitty community. I was surprised, as it seemed sort of lackluster to me. I couldn’t be more wrong! This toy was a brilliant invention and my cats couldn’t be more obsessed! The cat nip, the crinkle, the pockets, the attached toys…a total blast. Fun for me too! I love watching them live their best lives. Try it out!
Item is solely dependent on interest of cat. Does not move independently.
Growing up, my pets always had kong toys, so naturally I got this for my cat. She likes finding treats I hide in the pockets. Luckily this toy is as sturdy as I would expect from a kong toy, because my cat can play pretty rough. This mat is often found being kicked by calico paws because my cat thinks violence is the answer + she likes the sound it makes. I will keep buying from Kong!
Really liked the concept of this toy. My cat, Vivian loves to lay on the brown shipping paper from the Chewy box. To the point where I have to save a piece for her in the living room to lay on. She's all about the crinkle sound. This mini quilt makes a similar sound and she immediately started laying on. Note, she has many blankets, Felt Cave and furniture to lay on too. I highly recommend this toy if your cat is into crinkle. I took a star off for two reasons. One, it's really mini sized and diamond shaped, so my cat is bigger than it. Second, the yarn ball that was attached was thin yarn that just looked like a chewing/ choking hazard. I cut that off before I gave it to her.
My senior cat loved it but it is rather small. His entire body fits over it.
My kitten is having a great time searching for her toys in the pockets on her “quilt” and then beating them up real good like she would put in the wild once she gets them out. Like I say it’s search and destroy in kitty world. It’s quite the fun game for her and a funny little show for me to watch.
Kept my cat occupied, she seems to really like this!
My kitten really likes this. She likes to get under it, and she also runs and jumps on it and slides across the floor
Agent Meowlder loves this mat! He is not a box guy, I know, WHA???!!?!?! But he goes crazy for plastic bags! (I've been trying to explain the impacts on the environment) This mat has the best crinkle to it, it sounds like plastic bags (maybe I can stop collecting them). And he loves the pockets. He likes to paw toys and snacks out from them. It is also a nice place to nap.
When my kitten first saw the mat she was excited. I noticed she kept chewing on the mouse’s tail and it’s yarn material. Yarn material is dangerous for cats if it’s accidentally consumed. I am an overly careful cat mom and was not happy to see that. And also the “fake yarn” is real yarn material. The FAT CAT mats from Chewy are not made of this dangerous yarn material and it’s also on a string. I’m a bit disappointed with Kong. Because I checked my other cat toys from different brands and the strings are not yarn material. Im thinking about cutting the tail of the mouse off and the yarn on the string. So I don’t have to throw it away. I’m sure it can be fine but I don’t want to chance it.
