Bad Quality
I have a 30 lb puppy named Luna. Although she is a husky so she is strong she should not be able to tear through a leash by pulling on walks. The first one we got came already ripped so we had a replacement sent. After two walks the leash had already ripped almost in half. I understand she is a tough puppy but the size states for smalls holds up to 45 lbs and she is only 30 lbs. not very happy as i love kong products however if she had torn the leash all the way she could have gotten loose and could have gotten lost or hurt. Not a good name for kong products.

Not very durable. Just snapped off the end and the wheel inside just wound down and it’s broke! Had it less than 30days. Very small handle. Hold with two fingers is all I can fit in handle. I bought extra small dog but not extra small human. Chewy is Great! They are replacing it with no fee. I hope the next one last longer
Leash That Works!
This is a good leash that works as described. One thing that I found most helpful is that the handle is large enough for my hands, despite the fact that I have a small dog on the other end of the leash. The ergonomic fit with the rubberized handle feels good on either hand. And I can easily retract the leash when I need my dog to get closer to me. I haven't tried this out at night, so I'm not sure about the reflectiveness. It's a very good leash and I recommend it.
Lasted only one month
I bought a Kong leash last year and my leash chewing Schnoodle has done a number on it. I ordered this thinking I was getting the same thing. The leash was thinner and my puppy chewed it. It still had a decent amount of unchewed area l, but it snapped when I was walking him- fortunately we were on our front walk. The snap startled my dog, but I was lucky to scoop him up before he realized he was free. Obviously I have learned my lesson and have him on a thick non-retractable leash.
Bad quality
Bought on October 5, it’s now November 28 and the leash is no longer usable. The retracting mechanism always felt cheap and didn’t retract smoothly. The brake was difficult to engage if the leash was being pulled on and the brake lock was difficult to engage. Now, the brake engages randomly and will not disengage. I’m going back to using a Flexi.
Makes walking doable
This lead is comfortable in my hand, safe and good for my JR Terrier who likes to start every walk at a full-out run!
Good Product, Could Be Better
I don't use or recommend a retractable leash for all occasions, but there are times when they are wonderful and I love having one. I bought this for the price and the quality of the Kong brand after my cheap retractable leash broke. I did carefully read the reviews before my purchase, and I agree with the reviews that the handle should be bigger to fit a regular sized human hand, because it definitely doesn't fit all four fingers.

I bought this Kong Leash while it was on sale so it was more affordable than it usually is. Let me tell you that this retractable tape leash is worth the extra money! I have used another top brand for over a decade and have never been satisfied with any other brand, until now. I can't wait for the rain to stop so I can get my boys out and compare the two retractables side by side. I have a feeling I won't be disappointed.
Waste of money
I bought this for my 22 lb German Shepherd & Lab mix and within 3-4 uses he either chewed it enough to cause the leash to break or it just broke. I was waking him and all of a sudden the leash snapped and my puppy was running free in busy downtown rush hour traffic.
