Not safe at all
My 11 month old lab puppy chewed the extra large safestix and wound up with a big piece of it stuck in his intestine. After $3500 and 2 days in the Emergency Clinic he finally passed it due to all the IV fluids he was given. I contacted Kong, not even looking for money but to let them know how dangerous this toy is. They said they wanted the receipt for the toy and the piece that caused the blockage before they would communicate with me. I didn't have those things so stopped responding.
Not exactly her favorite
Our 12 pound Maltipoo doesn't really play with this as much. She likes things she can comfortably carry around and this she can't. We did get her a few toys at the same time with this and she hasn't really played with it by choice. It would make a great tug toy if we could get her to use it. The ends are a bit smaller than a golf ball.
Chew Play Chew Play
We have 3 Newfoundlands and they LOVE this KONG Safestix. They will all play with it then one of them will chew it then all three will play with it then one will chew it. You can hear it squeak when they chew it. They all tug on it at the same time. They chew on it allot and no damage yet. We also have the medium Safestix.
Rusty's favorite sticks
Rusty loves his Kong safe stix, we keep them in the cars, near doors so he has one to carry. Our previous pups loved tennis balls but all Rusty wants is his safe ssax to carry on walks and to play with.
Good outside toy
This toy is sturdy. We bought the first one to play with outside because we live on a hill and balls roll down the yard and into the street. Our dog loves taking it on hikes. Unfortunately she dropped it in a creek and it floated downstream. I immediately ordered another I wanted green and got red shipped instead. And probably FedEx issue, but I kept getting emails saying my order was being delivered the next day. It took 6 days.

My dogs love this toy. They can chew on it, tug it, and fetch it. The large is the entire length of my basset heeler but he doesn’t let that stop him.
Perfect for Destroyer
Tough toy for our little destroyer. So far, she has chewed and the toy has not flaked off. Great throw and tug toy. She seems to enjoy the texture.
