Is this dummie chewable? I need something that my dog CAN'T chew through, just retrieve!
Answer by ChewyMar 04, 2021
This foam dummy is a great toss-and-retrieve toy that teaches dogs to use a soft-mouth carry. It is not recommended as a chew toy.

OK so "The Large Training Dummy measures approximately 12 inches long and the X-Large Training Dummy measures approximately 12 ¼ inches long" ... but what are the diameters? Is XL just fatter?
Answer by ChewyOct 06, 2021
The Large Training Dummy measures approximately 2 inches in diameter by 12 inches long and the X-Large Training Dummy measures approximately 3.25 inches in diameter by 12 ¼ inches long.

What is the country of manufacture for this product?
Answer by ChewyFeb 19, 2019
This toy is produced in China.

I have two labs around 70- 85 pounds, should I get the large or x large for them?
Answer by ChewyJun 29, 2021
Either size is suitable. It's a good idea to mix sizes and types of retriever dummies so your dog doesn't get used to picking up just one dummy, and possibly not pick up anything else.

Best ever.

My dogs are strictly upland hunters but love the water. All summer we head to the dock for low impact exercise. At first glance, I thought these foam dummies wouldn't last long. Couldn't have been more wrong. My labs are not gentle with them. They are covered in teeth marks but after 3 years, no tears or other damage. They throw far and float high. They have no inflation chambers or valves to fail. Simple and strong = can't go wrong.

Kong Water Toy for Dogs

Kong water toy has been our best purchase. Our Dog is a pit & very rough on water toys while fetching. He loves the Ocean & loves fetching toys once we have thrown them out into the waves. These have endured his chewing, which he enjoys doing when he swims into shore with them. Kong keep up the tough toys!

Great for all types of play

Our dog loves this toy! We were looking for something to use when we take him swimming in the ocean as well as lakes/rivers. Usually we just use a tennis ball but those get grimy relatively quickly. This toy is easy to throw, floats really well and is easy to clean.

Not typical Kong durability

I ordered 3 of these for our Lab that is a very aggressive chewer when it come to her retrieving dummies. They just arrived less than 1 hour ago and one is destroyed already and I can’t imagine how many of the pieces she actually swallowed already. These are nothing more than tough styrofoam. Unless you have an extremely soft mouthed retriever I’d stay away from anything made out of this material. Definitely NOT what we have come to expect from Kong!!!

Great Lake Toy

This is a great toy to throw for your dog into a lake or a pool. The only downside is if your dog is a strong chewer he made tear it apart easily.

Not durable

For a reputable kong brand it was cheap. Styrofoam material had puncture holes in it from my dog retrieving it after the first time. Wouldn’t recommend.

Favorite Toy

My black lab loves this training toy. We use it for playing in the water because he’s pretty harsh on his toys and so far it’s held up for about a year. I wouldn’t suggest letting dogs play with it without supervision or indoors too much because the material can easily be ripped apart. If you don’t let them chew it for long periods of time it holds up amazing! Love this toy and so does my lab!

My dog loves this toy!!

Just want to know from the manufacturer why my dogs only like to chew this toy at the neck and chew off the string? I am not writing anything negative, just want to know if others agree with my dogs!!

Not a chew toy!

Keep this for retrieve training only. Its great for water retrieval. However, it took all of about a minute for our Golden to chew the tab off that the rope attaches to. Not what I expect from Kong.

For swimmers

Both my golden and lab love this toy. We live on a lake and this is their water fetch favorite. They need to figure out a better knot for the rope so it doesn’t come undone constantly but otherwise it’s great. I’m going tie a 550 cord to it and hope that it will continue to launch well.
