Description

Sometimes your pup just needs a little more open space in your car to feel secure and comfortable while traveling. It’s a difficult dog’s life when you don’t know whether to be oversized and under protected on a lofty seat – or to hunker down on the not-so-soft floor, making it difficult as the owner to practice proper car/dog safety. The Back Seat Bridge does (you guessed it) just what its name says, and bridges the gap between your front and rear seats, so falling to the floor is never a problem for your pup. With a few simple attachments this padded bridge connects between seats to extend Fido’s spot, providing the extra comfortable space that they need to have a happy ride. There is a fold down center barrier that acts as a wall just in case you stop short, and also a built in cup holder and pocket for organization.

Key Benefits
  • Sturdy, rugged pad that holds up to 100 pounds.
  • Partition creates a barrier to hinder dog from standing on the armrest & getting in the front seat.
  • Reversible black and hampton sand colors to match vehicle interiors.
  • Recommended for spaces not greater than 13" from back of seat to seat edge.
  • Made of 600d Polyester with TPE Backing and is completely waterproof.

Instructions

Installation:

  • Open the Backseat Bridge and lay it flat across the backseat of the vehicle with the preferred color facing up. Slide the bridge forward until the edge with the center console barrier is flush against the back of the front seats. Place on top of any front seat divider if needed, to ensure any gap between the platform and front seats is closed. NOTE: The space between the back of the front seat and backseat edge should be 13 inches or less.

  • Secure seat strap around the back rest of your driver’s seat, as close to the bottom of the seat as possible, and clip it to the seat strap D-ring. Repeat on your passenger’s side. NOTE: Seat strap D-rings are located on both sides of the bridge. Connect the seat straps to the D-rings located on the underside of the Backseat Bridge, based on your preferred color choice being right side up.

  • Pull headrest strap around your driver’s side headrest and clip onto the headrest strap D-ring. Repeat this on the passenger side.

  • Adjust all straps for a secure fit.

Hand Wash Instructions

  • Brush off loose dirt with a dry brush.

  • Spot clean with a damp sponge, cold water, and mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents.

  • If necessary, rinse larger area to eliminate excess soap residue.

  • Hang or lie flat to air dry (do not machine dry).

    Not for the young

    By on

The Kurgo Backseat Bridge is a good idea but not made for dogs who are curious and still chew. Between layers of thick nylon is a thick cardboard. And on either side of the middle section are velcro pockets. Both of these are design issues IMO. While driving the first 30 mins my dog ate his way through the cardboard. I suppose for dogs who will simply sit or lie down, the Bridge will work okay (be advised you will want to put something across the height difference between the bridge and the seat). Good luck.

    Almost Perfect

    By on

I have been looking for a product that adapts the back seat of my Subaru Forester so that my 65 lb. lab mix has more room AND can lie facing forward with his front paws on the console between the seats as he loves to do. Previously I have used various boxes on the floor to extend the seat, rolled up foam, etc. and nothing has worked. I have also used a seat protector/hammock but they do not allow access to the front. This bridge is well made and sturdy, straps on with adjustable straps and stays in place fairly well. It fits best when both front seats are aligned. If one is further up, or back, there will be a gap between the bridge and the seat. If one is further up, or back, there will be a gap between the bridge and the seat. The flap in the center folds down to allow access to the console, however, it is too wide to be used as a cover for the console, which if made with more flexibility it could have been used that way. For those that want to confine their dog completely to the back, the center panel does the trick. Like other pet products for cars, the surface is slippery so I cover it with a rubber backed throw rug. Pet hair sticks to the bridge and must be vacuumed or lint-rolled off. The overall fit is good but I wish it were a bit deeper, covering more of the seat. Finally, in order to get into the back seat with the bridge installed, your dog needs to be able to jump up onto the seat, rather than climb in by stepping on the floor of the backseat first. This could be an issue with a senior dog. All things considered, I am glad to have the bridge and have had no problems with it. It is sturdily made and reversible so you have an option of light tan or black. … more

lets my 2 dogs ride in the captains chairs

    By on

I have 2 large dogs, who ride regularly to the beach with us, and have issues trying to balance in the second row captains chairs in my husband's Highlander. It's not always possible to put the seats down for them, depending on the load, so this gadget helps bridge the hole between the seats and extends over the gap in front of the seat to give them more room. It still allows us to use the space behind the front row seats for stuff, like my purse, we might need to get to during the trip. It's not perfect - it's a little slick and moves around a lot, which bothers one of the dogs more than the other, and it folded up a little when they first jumped in - I think I can make it work though, and I have 2 large dogs, who ride regularly to the beach with us, and have issues trying to balance in the second row captains chairs in my husband's Highlander. I think it will work better in my car, which has a bench seat in the back, but is a little smaller for the 2 dogs to ride. … more

    Works great

    By on

We purchased this for our 100+ lb, 11 1/2 year old chocolate lab. He does not enjoy car rides, he only tolerates them, and we have a lakehouse almost 2 hours away from our main house, and we go there pretty frequently. We have tried several different things in the backseat, to help him feel more secure, and this, by far, has been the best. He seems to lay down more quietly in the backseat with this cover, and we don't have to worry about him sliding off of the seat and hurting himself. We recommend.

    Backseatbridge

Our dog is getting old and had a difficult time in the back seat. After the initial introduction he really liked being able to turn around and is comfortable enough to enjoy taking a nice nap.

    Bridge for back seat

    By on

I love the idea of extending the area of my back seat area for my dog, but don't care for the bulky edge.

    This is amazing!

    By on

This bridge is amazing. Very sturdy, Easy to install and adjust. I did not raise the center piece, as it can also lay flat on the center console, protecting the center console from pup prints & drool. I did place a small carpet over the bench, just for added padding, and to keep the bench free from muddy paw prints. ( It’s been a rainy fall) Great item!

    Works as advertised

My dog Sawyer loves this bridge. He did not like his Kurgo hammock but really likes this product. He likes looking forded when we drive and can stretch out over the center console which is protected by the center section.

Decent Product and Awesome Return Process

    By on

I ordered the Kurgo Backseat bridge for my Golden Retriever.I drive a smaller car and she is not a very good car rider so I thought the extra space this provided would help ease her anxiety but in her case it did not.The product was sturdy and relatively easy to install but was hard to get tight enough to keep it from moving around. I called Chewy to ask about how to package and return it and they were awesome. Issued me a refund no questions asked and told me exactly what to do with the product!

    We love this!

    By on

I have three dogs, two older ones that have trouble with their hind legs and now use doggy steps to get into the SUV. I had problems with them slipping into the floor space in the back seat and so I installed this bridge and it is great! Not only does it keep the doggies from trying to get up front, but I don't have to worry about them falling and hurting themselves while they are in the back. They just lay across the seat and I believe are very comfortable now that they can stretch out.
