Kurgo Loft Reversible Insulated Dog Quilted Coat

I was disappointed by how thin this coat was when I got it out of the box. The description said weather protection for snow, rain and cold. I've not tested it more in the cold but I don't know how warm this coat really would perform. As for snow and rain....forget it. I know nothing is water proof unless it is plastic but it wasn't even that water resistant. I put it on my girl and was happy with the piece that goes between her legs hoping it would keep her a bit dryer considering how low to the ground she is. It wasn't raining but the grass was wet. One trip to the barn and back and it was soaked through. The patch on the back for the access to a harness could stand to be a lot smaller for smaller sized coats. Also, I will not be able to use it reversible as the hooks of the closure would rub her belly. Good thing I'm not as fond of that color. My 90lb Bernese Mountain Dog loves his jacket. We never thought that he would want to wear a coat because of how he loves to try to eat socks, shoes, and other pieces of clothing; but much to our surprise he loves this coat! He has made it into a ritual where every time he'd like to go outside, his coat goes right on. This jacket velcro's underneath so it's really good for dogs who are a bit fussy about being moved around too much. It's also the perfect length so that your pup can't turn around and grab it and try to pull it off (but always make sure to double check the sizing.)

I ordered this jacket in a size small then a size x-small. Neither fits my dog properly. X-small is so short (only covers half of his back - see photo) and the small was too long (covers his private area). Also, the velcro is way too sticky! This is listed as being reversible but the velcro sticks to my yorkie's fur. I had to cut my dog out of it when he got all tangled up in the velcro. The photo uploaded to this review was taken before I realized that his fur was stuck to the velcro when the jacket is in the reverse mode.

You have no idea how long I have been looking for a coat that fits everything I need for Buddy. First of all, the measurements were corrrect. I did not have to add on, go up a size, go down a size like so many of the other coats. It doesn't have sleeves to pull onto Buddy's legs. It is a wrap around thing. I walk Buddy with a harness so there is a zippered slit where I can pull the leash through. Also it is not that heavy a coat and it is water resistant. Just the right weight for Buddy to walk in when those mornings are cold for South Carolina. Perfect. Finally.

This is the PERFECT coat for our 15lb chihuahua/toy poodle mix, Roscoe. In fact, this is the second time I’ve purchased the same coat. Easy to get on and off and very adjustable Velcro across belly. He’s able to move freely and run and play with no binding. Very water repellant and the zipper helps keep water from getting in at the harness access port. Works with several different harnesses as well. We live in Northern California and though we don’t get a lot of rain, it is great for those 40degree morning walks.

Our recently adopted Chihuahua mix needs this coat to get out on a January walk in Utah. He's really sensitive about his legs and having them manipulated into a garment. We can't get him into a sweater at all without a meltdown. This coat really helps in that he can stand on all 4 legs and it's closed up by fastening velcro on his underside. That also allows for a pretty good custom fit. He's just under 14 lbs and pretty well proportioned overall. I ordered a small and it's still a bit big for him. I'd like to be able to tighten it a little bit more and it's a little long. It can interfere with his privates and need adjustment. I was very disappointed when I got this coat. It says insulated but it is very thin. Also you have to pull it on over their head and then velcro under belly. Head hole is a little small so my dog hates it going over her head. Would return but I already took the tag off. Fits the rest of her fine and not too long so giving 2 stars.

This coat is so well made, seems very warm and comfortable. We just got ours and my boy absolutely loves it. He doesn’t want to take it off! I really like how easy it is to put on and take off. So far, I am very pleased with my purchase and my boy seems pleased also. The fit is great. My boy is a 90 LB German shorthair pit mix. He has super long legs and a huge barrel chest. I chose size XL. It’s a perfect fit. I highly recommend this product!

I measured my dog (a 57 lb. lovebug who would fall under the "pit bull" umbrella) pretty closely before ordering, but the coat doesn't quite fit right. Totally possible my measurement was off, but it fits her great overall but was too tight around her neck. That being said, she is a senior pitizen with a big ol' flabby gizzard neck. I was bummed that the neck on the jacket isn't stretchy whatsoever and has zero give. Luckily the way the stitching is sewn, I was able to just cut the neck collar a bit with scissors so it is slightly bigger and her gizzard can hang out. Otherwise, she looks so sleek! FIT Penny is a 70lb pit bull (approximately 30” girth, 20” Length, 18” collar) looking at sizing we initially ordered the medium but because we also bought the matching kurgo core dog sweater to layer underneath, and wanted more rain/sleet/snow coverage, we sized up to the large. (She wears a medium in the sweater though) COMPATIBILITY Penny wears the petsafe 3-In-1 harness. The zipper is great for the back harness and the cut out on the neck is perfect for pulling the Martingale front clip through. WEATHER The jacket is super light but warm and while you can tell it gets wet (water resistant not repellent) it takes a lot to get through to the inner layer.
