    great life jacket

    Perfect fit according to measuring guides given in description. My dog normally does not like any jackets or coats so I was worried that he wouldn't wear this one. He loves it and swims to his heart's content. Now when I get the coat out, he's excited because he knows it means swimming!     The Kurgo is a well made jacket with some great features but falls short in a couple of critical areas for active water dogs. The straps that go under the chest are not in any way fastened to the flaps that fold under the chest. The flaps should spread the strap load and stop it rubbing. First time in The Kurgo is a well made jacket with some great features but falls short in a couple of critical areas for active water dogs. The straps that go under the chest are not in any way fastened to the flaps that fold under the chest. The flaps should spread the strap load and stop it rubbing. First time in and out of the water and the strap was off the flaps and rubbing. I also found that the distance between straps meant the front strap was on the chest and the rear on the tummy. The front neck loop was also too big for my dogs. I ended up switching to the Kyjen While the Kyjen is not as sturdy, the neoprene under body flap with its velcro tabs and loops is well designed and works much better on my dogs. The distance between the straps also fits my dogs better. Both my dogs have the same chest measurement but my male is a lot longer in the body. The large fits him well. It is too long on my female. The size down works on my female but is a bit short in the body and just fits the chest. Time will tell wrt durability but the Kyjen design works much better on my 65 and 75 lb poodles. I do like the bigger single lifting strap on the Kurgo more but hope I do not have to use the handles to often … more
