Answer by ChewyNov 07, 2021
This includes 1 dog brace.

what is the width and length of the two main support pads of the labra extra supportive dog hock brace? I believe I would order the large for my 14year old lab.

Could be a good product.

The velcro is already not sticking. I bought this because the vet chiropractor said it could help his double jointed hock. I've already sewn 1 on the bottom strap. I ordered vet wrap to use.

Works great, but could be more durable

I bought this brace for a very active APBT who has some instability in his left hock and will occasionally develop a mild limp after sprinting around the backyard.  The limp seemed to be making its appearance more frequently (and it's rather hard to get a 3 y/o to slow down), so I bought this brace in hopes of giving him some added support.  Anyhow, here are the highlights: -------------------- [1.] The brace works perfectly and provides him with the added stability (and confidence) that he needs. -------------------- [2.] It IS hard to get on the first several times.  The velcro sticks to itself and - if you have an impatient dog who hates to "wear" things - constant detangling takes up way too much precious time when already dealing with limited cooperation.   That having been said, my dog now (17 days later) seems to like the brace (or at least accepts it) and will lay patiently while I apply it. -------------------- [3.]  It started falling apart after about two weeks. The hooks on the "hook" portion of the velcro started becoming a bit sparse after taking it on and off numerous times, resulting in straps that wouldn't stay in place for more than a few minutes.  The metal supports also started wearing holes through the top of the fabric that encloses them. -------------------- [4.]Overall Conclusion: The thing worked so well (and my dog doesn't seem to hate it) that I just bought two more.  Once the new ones get here, I may experiment on the old one to see if I can come up ways to make the darn thing more durable.  Even if it just has to be replaced every few weeks, $25 is a small price to pay for a happy pup. -------------------- *Word of caution* Make sure it is "snug" but not too tight, as you don't want to cut off circulation.  My husband did actually apply the brace too tight one time.  Fortunately, I'm an RN (and an overly worried dog mama) and knew to periodically compare the temperature and color of both back feet... sure enough, I found one cold foot.  Loosened the brace up a bit and it warmed right back up.

Brace for back left ankle

Seems to be helping, but not the ultimate fix. Need to see a vet. Does help complete failure of the ankle joint

Difficult to put on and poor alignment

The velcro straps are VERY difficult to work with and kept locking onto each other making getting the brace on my dog next to impossible. Once one the hock hole was not centered and I could not center it. Honestly just a poor design a dog owners.

Didn't work for us

I bought these hoping they would offer joint support for my extremely senior dog. He hated them. So not, in my opinion worth it at all for arthritis support. Good quality though and easy to put on.

Too big of brace

It did not work for my dog; it was too big for him. I even got the smallest size they had. I thought the extra support would be good, but it was too much and too big.

Labra Braces are Well Made

I bought 2 Labra braces for my lab but it turns out he has a type of arthritis that will not be helped by the braces. I had used one of the braces on Otis until he went to the vet and I was told they would not help him. Chewy refunded my money and asked me to donate the braces to my local shelter, which I did. I am very impressed with the way I was treated by Chewy and will continue to purchase all my pet supplies from them. By the way, the braces were very well made and I'm sure they would benefit a dog that needed them.

great product

i bought 2 medium and the one large. took them with one of our dogs to the vet. he had been wrapping her hock in ace bandages after trying a soft cast. our nine year old has had problems for years. since she is so old, we didn't want to disrupt her life by crating her. we didn't even know she needed a support on her front leg, but she came out of the vet with one on the rear leg and one on the front. she is now hopping back on the bed. 80 pound tibetan mastiff mix. we have a 120 lb. dane mix and are keeping this stronger one in case he needs it later. he is also 9. birthday a month apart. so my veterinarian approved after telling me for years that no product worked. so congratulations!
