When do I use Lactoquil versus Endurosyn?
Lactoquil is a daily probiotic soft chew specially formulated to support ongoing digestive health maintenance for dogs. If your dog has a history of a sensitive stomach or seems to suffer from on and off again GI upset, talk to your veterinarian to determine if your dog would be a good candidate for Lactoquil.
Endurosyn is a 3-day probiotic oral gel for short-term use in support of digestive health during times of stress or transition. Pets that suffer from GI upset when boarding, traveling, training, or going to the vet are good candidates for Endurosyn. Warnings: Keep out of reach of children. For animal use only.
What is the difference between Lactoquil and Endurosyn?
Lactoquil is a daily probiotic soft chew to be used for ongoing digestive health support for dogs only. It contains high levels of live, viable, naturally occurring beneficial bacteria (like some yogurts) to assist in healthy digestion and absorption.
Endurosyn is not designed for long term use but for short stints of stress or transition (traveling, kenneling, etc.) that can cause GI upset. In addition to probiotics, it contains additional ingredients such as electrolytes, vitamins and concentrated energy sources to help support the protective layers of the bowel as well as maintain proper intestinal pH.
Can I use Lactoquil and Endurosyn together?
There are no known contraindications, but always tell your veterinarian about all the medications and supplements that you give your dog.
What could cause my pet's normal gastrointestinal (GI) system to be disrupted?
A normal GI system has a healthy balance of microorganisms, but your pet's system can be disrupted by:
- Dietary changes or indiscretions
- Stress from boarding, travel or hospitalization
- Antibiotic therapy
- Deworming
- Age
- Food sensitivities
Can I use Lactoquil for my cat?
No. Lactoquil is labeled for use in dogs only.
Why does Lactoquil contain several strains of bacteria?
The GI tract has a complex, intermixing array of beneficial bacteria, called the microflora. It is maintained in a careful balance that coats and protects the layers of the intestines. Under certain conditions, gaps or breaks in the microflora appear creating opportunities for microbial imbalances to occur. This often leads to GI upset and distress. A probiotic with multi-strains of bacteria is able to utilize the strengths of each specific strain to promote proper gut flora balance.
How should Lactoquil be stored?
Store at room temperature in a location your dog can't access.
Lactoquil is packaged in a sealed jar within plastic twist-tie bags and should be kept sealed and stored at room temperature when not in use. It does not require refrigeration or any other special storage.
When should Lactoquil be given?
Lactoquil can be given during or after meal time. Provide fresh water at all times.
Feeding Directions:
- Puppies and Dogs under 60 lb.......................................................1 chew/day
- Dogs over 60 lb.............................................................................2 chews/day
Can I give my dog more than the recommended amount?
No. Please follow the feeding recommendations as listed on the product label.
How long will a 75-count tub of Lactoquil last?
Assuming only one dog is receiving Lactoquil, each tub count will last according to the table, below:
Puppies and dogs under 60 lbs | tDogs over 60 lbs | |
---|---|---|
75 Count | t2.5 months | t37 days |
What is the protein source for Lactoquil (flavor)?
Poultry liver.
Lactoquil is not intended for patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the product.
What is the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC)?
The National Animal Supplement Council is a nonprofit industry group dedicated to protecting and enhancing the health of companion animals throughout the U.S. The overriding goal of the NASC is to promote the health and well-being of cats and dogs that are given animal health supplements by their owners, and to protect and enhance the integrity of the animal health product industry.
What is the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) Quality Seal found on Lactoquil and all Bayer supplements?
The NASC Quality Seal program was initiated as part of the NASC's ongoing effort to improve and standardize the animal supplement industry.
The Quality Seal is a way for consumers to know the product they are buying comes from a manufacturer that voluntarily complies with standards set forth by NASC.
NASC member companies must comply with rigorous requirements before they are granted permission to display the seal:
When you see the Quality Seal on a product, you can trust it comes from a reputable company that has successfully passed an independent quality audit.
Look for the NASC Quality Seal on Lactoquil and all Bayer supplements.
Why should I include vitamins & supplements in my pet's diet?
Most commercial pet foods include baseline vitamins and nutrients, but some may not have the adequate amount to suit your pet's exact health needs. Like in humans, vitamins and supplements can help support your pet's long-term health, regulating everything from digestion to muscle growth. Consult your veterinarian to determine the best vitamins and supplements for your furry friend.
How often should I give this supplement to my pet?
It is recommended to give the suggested dosage based off your pet's weight. Please refer to the Feeding Instructions tab and consult with your veterinarian for more information.
Is this supplement safe to use with the medication my pet is currently taking?
If your pet has a medical condition and is taking other medication, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian to ensure that this supplement is safe to use.

Great Product
By LSC00 on Jan 13, 2021
I had to change my dog’s diet which resulted in less frequent and skimpier bowel movements. On the vet’s recommendation I tried this probiotic and it worked wonders. When the vet’s rx ran out I started buying this from you. My dog is doing well and I will continue to use this.

Love this probiotic for our dogs
By KTowne on Jan 11, 2021
We have used this product for two of our dogs now. Both have had issues with loose stools. It seems to really manage their stools. We have no issues with loose stools once they start on this probiotic.

A staple for our dogs
By Hayley on Oct 28, 2020
We LOVE these probiotics and so do our pups! We make sure to include them when we're boarding the dogs because their stomachs always get out of whack. We primarily use them when we notice a problem with their poop, and unless there's something underlying that requires a vet visit, they always help clear things up relatively quickly.

New to us, but seem's to work!
By Jeremi on Mar 4, 2020
Based on my own research and reading reviews up the wall on different products within this category. Look no further, this is the one you'll want. Love the fact it's made by Bayer.. Not just some joe-shmoe company. I have a 12year old boxer who sometimes get Gastro upset.. :( To help ease her tummy and so far make it not occur again. I wen't with this product and couldn't be happier.

Rottie with issues :/
By Gina on Nov 20, 2019
We have had our pup for 4 months, she has a very sensitive stomach, it seemed everything gives / gave her diarrhea, sometimes explosive, and if you have a pup with a sensitive stomach you all know what I mean...Shes on royal canine gi dog food , it helped, her stool was some what firmer. I decided to add probiotics, (what could it hurt?) I love reading ratings, so i opted for lactoquil its pretty much 5 stars. We ordered on friday, started her on it Saturday today is Tuesday and she actually had a regular, nice tootsie roll type stool. I'm so HAPPY if you have this problem, it's hard to crate train a pup. I'm hoping I can wean her to a new dog food , one that's not as expensive (70 dollars We have had our pup for 4 months, she has a very sensitive stomach, it seemed everything gives / gave her diarrhea, sometimes explosive, and if you have a pup with a sensitive stomach you all know what I mean...Shes on royal canine gi dog food , it helped, her stool was some what firmer. Thank you to everyone who wrote a review, if you all didnt take the time, I wouldn't of tried it. ONE HAPPY ROTTIE MOMMA. … more

Great supplement
By Julie on Feb 20, 2020
Both of my large breed dogs have benefited from this supplement. They are much more "regular" now and they both love the taste so it's like a treat for them.
