Serving Suggestions if Fed as a Full and Nutritious Diet

It is important for your bird's sense of well being and comfort to have food in his dish at all times. Place enough Avi-Cakes in the dish as you estimate your bird will eat without wasting too much. If the dish is emptied, refill as needed. Because birds love variety, we recommend feeding your bird fresh fruits and vegetables as 20% of his total daily diet.

Transition Instructions

Simply start by adding 2 or 3 Avi-Cakes to his food dish. Slowly increase the amount of Avi-Cakes at the same time you decrease the current diet. Sometimes tearing the Avi-Cakes into smaller pieces during this transition helps.

I think these would be interesting to try & would like my lovebird to be mentally engaged while eating. However I am concerned because mine is 16yrs old & would this be too difficult for him to eat? Don't want him to exhaust himself just trying to get a meal.

If your bird would rather like a crunchy, dry, cake then you can purchase these at the grocery store where they have been there for a long time and are stale. Chewy sells fresh healthy food!!

My cockatiels love it!! Love at first bite!

I was cautious at first because my store that I usually get their food from was sold out for awhile and I was almost out of their food. I got a different food and got this to try and help them eat their food. I didn’t realize how much they were going to love this food. They eagerly went right to the avi cakes and just went to town. My cockatiels are extremely picky and don’t handle changes in their diet well at all so I was impressed they loved this food so much. I will definitely buy more to give it to them as a special treat.
