A bird shall not live on seed alone, which is why you need to feed your feathered friend Lafeber Premium Daily Diet Parakeet Bird Food. There’s no doubt that parakeets, lovebirds and parrotlets love high-fat seeds, but a wild bird also spends her day busily foraging for local fruits, flowers and other plant matter, as well as insects and worms–all of which supplement her diet with essential vitamins, mineral and proteins. Lafeber’s Premium Pellets take the guesswork out of offering your bird complete and balanced nutrition with a veterinarian-developed, independently tested formula that’s designed to offer your birdie buddy everything she needs to thrive inside and out.

- Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids promote healthy skin and feathers, while essential chelated minerals are quickly absorbed for maximum benefit.
- Made and hand-packed in the USA on the Lafeber farm using sulfite-free vegetables; naturally flavored and preserved.
- Veterinarian developed to deliver exceptional nutrition; can be served as a complete diet or offered in combination with a seed blend, millet spray or fresh fruits and veggies.

not easy to convert seed eaters to pellets
By BirdPellets on Dec 22, 2020
It can be very difficult to convert birds that are seed eaters to a pelleted diet. So I make muffins using the pellets in the recipe to get my birds to eat it I'll give you the recipe. 2 cups of pellets such as these lafeber's, I pulverize them into a powder the first few times, then I only pulverize half of them after they get used to them. 1 very ripe banana. 1/3 cup wheat germ oil (I substitute 1/3 cup applesauce). 1/3 cup vegetable oil (I prefer to use red palm oil Harrison's sells it). 6 large eggs. 2 heaping tbls of canned pumpkin (not pie filling). 1 heaping tbls of applesauce, add this even if you substituted applesauce for the wheat germ oil. 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables, thawed It can be very difficult to convert birds that are seed eaters to a pelleted diet. Mix the first 8 ingredients in a food processor, add the beans and brown rice and process just enough to blend. Pour into a large bowl and add the cornmeal and baking powder. It should have the consistency of cornbread batter. if it's to dry add some liquid from the pinto beans. This will make one 13X9 cake pan or 24 muffins. I make muffins and I line them with paper liners and individually freeze them I remove the paper liner before freezing. Bake at 350 until knife inserted comes out clean. I usually use baby food jars of applesauce. You can mix this up and replace applesauce with pears or a combination of both. Once your bird is used to this you can stop pulverizing the pellets and they will find chunks of pellets in their muffins and get used to them. And hopefully eat them. … more

BIRDS LOVE IT
By aew12 on Dec 21, 2020
A bit pricey but worth it! My birds are very picky eaters and they have hated all the pellet foods I’ve gotten them. This is the only pellet food they will eat. Thank you for making my birds healthier!

Budgies like a variety
By Helen on Aug 29, 2020
I know you are going to hate this, but I am going to say the same thing again. I do not eat bird seed and my birds don’t talk, just make a lot of noise. They eat the seed, no complaints, no left over seed.

Budgies hated it
By disappointed on Jan 9, 2020
My 3 budgies absolutely hated this food. I'm not sure what it was but I do know it stinks. I wasted a good 90% + of this food. I had to go out and purchase another brand to try and trick them with a mixture. They still tossed this one and ate the other.

Not for my birds
By Redbone12 on Oct 28, 2019
Unfortunately none of my 6 birds would eat this. They took a bite and proceeded to throw this out of their dishes. Tried soaking and mixing but no way.
