Compounding pharmacists mix or change one or more FDA-approved medications to prepare a special medication for your pet. For example, if a medication is only available in pill form, the pharmacist might create it in liquid, gel, or capsule form.
Your pet may have a specific health need that cannot be addressed by an FDA-approved drug. For example:

My cat absolutely hates this. I thought he would tolerate it better since it is flavored but I think it’s the oil component that really didn’t sit well with him. He would gag, foam and drool just to get rid of it. We went back to the normal oral solution for humans, which he can tolerate a little better than the oil suspension.
Bought this when our usual source was backordered. Had to choose a flavor--beef. While our cat didn't have seizures while taking it, both he and I hated it. It had an oily feel and a VERY strong odor, and our cat seemed to actually try (and often succeeded in) throwing it up. He usually hadn't minded getting the old, unflavored version we'd been using, but started running away when he saw me coming with this. This was quite a bit more expensive that what we had been using, and when the usual stuff came back in stock I ordered it with relief and happily threw the remainder of this away.
The liquid is my go to when he refuses to take the pill (usually the 6am dose) He dislikes the liquid and it has a strong bad smell However if I gag him with the pill he vomits So I am glad to have this alternative
It’s all over my house within the first night of using it. As I write this with litter on my chest and bedding. My short haired cat moved and I saw it everywhere. I wanted to like it, but I don’t want to live in it.
Great size bottle at a low price. Loved how the package came with instructions. Safely packed
I received Jaxon medicine for seizures at the first of April. As of now he has not had had a problem. The only problem he hates the smell. I ad to wet dog food. No problem now.
My dog loves the taste of it, but she scratches a lot, which she never did with the regular flea and tick medicine, I’m switching back to the regular
my dog has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and takes this for seizures - pretty expensive at the pharmacy - at Chewy for just $10 more I get 3x the meds!
