I have a 120 pound 3 1/4 year old Swissy. She began with seizures on Thanksgiving 2022. She was having 1 seizure per month. She is on Pheno and have now added 1000mg every 8 hours and hasn’t had a seizure in 7 weeks. Seeing any dog have a seizure is heartbreaking. My girl takes more than 2 hours to come out of it completely. I can’t lift her so stopping the seizures were very important. Chewy is quick with delivery and the pricing and dosage is a great savings.
Maybe google this stuff before giving it to your dog esp if you have a giant dog ( mine is 113 lbs ) he only had 1 seizure but bc of his size ( my vet knew I couldn’t lift him alone ) she prescribed it to prevent them . The second night he stood up and vomited this was hours after he ate so it was nothing else new just this medicine. I read this caused personality changes in humans including aggression ( Keppra )he was already walking unsteadily! I just thought it felt too weird . He obviously didn’t like the drug or he wasn’t tolerating it . Keep in mind I’m not talking as a vet or about a dog that has a diagnosed seizure disorder or epilepsy. I’m sure in those cases you def need medication, even if it has side effects . We never found the cause of his one seizure , and this dog is highly allergic to stuff , he’s reacted to his annual shots once ( 2 yr old he broke out in whelps down only 1 side of his body ! We stopped ths lepto part of his shots and it’s never happened again . ) I wasn’t sure it wasn’t his new HP allergy dog food that caused this seizure but it was SO SCARY ! I’ve never felt so OOC as I did watching this seizure as I could do nothing to stop it ! Thank God he’s not had any other seizures but at age 8 he’s getting arthritics etc .
The product helped my dog reduce her seizures significantly! My dog used to get them three times a week, but now it is once every FOUR weeks. The product works, but the increase in price is ridiculous. I paid $60 for three, now the restock almost cost me $150 for three bottles.
Good price but found it cheaper on another website
Its help my chihuahua he haven’t had seizures since 2017
See below the remark. Would not recommend ordering medication from Chewy
Sassy has had seizures for the last 10 years now that I have her on this this we barely have any seizure activity at all if any through the month recommend for anybody that has a dog with seizures
Levetiracetam cost one third at chewy versus a national drug store chain. My dog has been on this medication for seizures for two years and the savings is much appreciated as I am retired.
Really appreciate Chewy stocking 1000mg, we have an older border collie with treatment resistant cluster seizures who takes 2000mg every 8 hours and it was getting outrageous to have pills stocked for her. This will be much easier.
Our 5 year old Shepard Mix started having Seizures all of a sudden when he turned 4. We had him on the 12 hr extended release pill but it was not working good. Switched to the 3x a day pill (This one) and it's been a game changer. Absolutely recommend this medication and I hope your pet has success. It's a commitment to keep this going 3x a day but we are so happy its working.
