do you have to hold the button down when use?

To use laser pointer, press the switch on the side of the device to activate. The first position activates the flashlight, the second activates the blacklight, and the third activates the laser.
Does it come with a usb charging cable?

The laser pointer does not come with a USB port for charging. ​​​​​​​To recharge the laser pointer, remove the cap containing the USB connector and plug the laser pointer directly into a USB port for charging.
how do I know when it's recharged

Is this laser safe for eyes of cats, dogs and humans?

Do not aim the laser pointer at the eyes or face. (Avoid direct eye exposure.) Do not look into the aperture while the laser pointer is on or point the laser toward reflective objects. Do not modify the laser pointer or remove protective covers or housings. Use of controls, adjustments, or performance of procedures other than those specified may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

My cats love this thing!

This is the best laser pointer ever, since it is rechargeable and does not require me having to take it apart and fiddle with those little disc batteries (which can also pose a danger to kids and pets). The cats are so enthralled with it that if they even see me take it out of the drawer it's stored in, they start to gear up. They even like the flashlight setting ( they're not exactly discerning). The blacklight setting also helps me find any spots where there may have been "accidents", and trust me, that is helpful if you have a multi-cat household. Highly recommend for some interactive fun with the fur kids.

Amazing

This thing lasts a long time on one quick charge. My cats (7) love it! We have several spooky cats that were considered unadoptable because of behavioral issues, but this gets them playing and out of their shell. Also because you switch it on its easier on our fingers. Definitely recommend.
