Took a little time before my cockatiel would go near it.

My bird suddenly started acting differently. Not sleeping in his sling house, not perching in his normal favorite spots. I noticed his nails a wee bit long. Because of Covid, didn’t want to take him to get a trim, so I purchased one of these perches and crossed my fingers. I do have varying sizes and textures of perches in his compound. This one is a little larger in width. I left it outside of his habitat for a few days, then installed it near his water. Got worried and had to relocate it because he wouldn’t go near it, nor the water. Eventually he went near it. I placed the smoother side up. Still hasn’t used it, but he has been checking it out so I’m hopeful.
Parakeet loves it

He can’t chew this one up. Our parakeet likes to perch as high up as possible in his flight cage because his next door neighbor is a lovebird and he wants to be as close to her as possible.
Don't get the large!
on Sep 23, 2020
It's too heavy and even the strongest cage wires cannot support the weight. I had to tie a rope perch underneath to support it.
The mediums and smalls are great and I use those!
Wouldn't buy again

I got this for my bird who has trouble with beak trimming. I put it right next to her food, so when she cleans her beak she rubs it on the perch. So far she doesnt seem to have any improvements. Nor does it do a good job at keeping her nails trimmed. Rough only on my pocket.

I ordered a corner perch for my Timhn African Grey Parrot. I didn't realize the one I ordered was more for a McCaw. My Gret is smaller than a Congo Grey. It was simply too big. I emailed you folks and told you the problem. I was blown away when you would send the next size smaller. Medium. Perfect for her. Then you said to donate the larger perch. I gave it to Who Haven. I can't say enough good words to say about you folks. I'm a lifetime customer now. Thank you
Had a smooth side!

3 of my parrots love them. One is afraid of anything new. Has helped with nail grooming. Smooth side up so it won't irritate.
Great for my parakeets!

I was concerned that this perch might be a little big for my parakeets, but the XS turned out to be a great size for them. They really like it!
Medium not appropriate for conures
on Apr 14, 2020
I have a green cheek conure and the medium is way too big for him, even though they stated medium would be appropriate for a conure. I have one of these from when I first got him, I just forgot the size that I bought. They're sturdy and last a while, and have a smooth area on the top so that it does not irritate the foot. Disappointing that I will have to return this one though.

I have a scarlet macaw and an African grey. I've purchased these perches for 30 years but had always bought at Magnolia Bird Farm in California and had my birds with me. I think the size reccomend must differ from bird to bird as these seem too big. But I will put in their cages and see how they do.
Got for conures

My conures seem to enjoy this. I got 2 for my grey awhile back he loves it seems to be his favorite perch. The conures will sit on it at night seems to be their sleeping perch
