Teaching my Giant Schnauzer puppies to drink from it...
I bought 7 of these for my Giant Schnauzer puppies families so they could continue to use them at their new homes. I made a "diaper bag" for the puppies and put one in each. They came super fast in the mail!! I love these and I have them on two sides of my house for my girl, the mom.
good idea, didn’t work for us
Bought this to provide an “always ready” water source for when the whole family is busy in the yard. My 80lb Lab usually drinks from the garden house so this was an obvious choice. However, the water pressure is too low from this device and he was not interested. Additionally, he is quite energetic and the all metal design made me worry about chipped teeth. If you have a small dog or a lazy drinker, get this. If you have a horse/bunny in dogs clothing, I cannot recommend.
So convenient!
Fabulous product. It took about two minutes to hook it up and train both dogs. I turned on the water, tapped the end and they started licking! My dogs are outside a lot when the weather is nice. Having the Lixit means they can easily get a drink whenever they need one - without having to go back into the house.
Lixit Dog Faucet
We've been using Lixit's for about 10 years for water access for our dogs when outside. These are not intuitive for the dogs to use, they have to be taught how to use them. However once they learn they will use them all the time and you will no longer have to fill and clean water bowls. The easiest way to teach them is to press on down on the end and let them see the water flowing out. They should start licking. It may take a few tries but it's worth it.
Great, dog prefers this over his bowl
Would highly recommend getting this if you are getting tired of (or consistent at) filling your dogs water bowl. We got it because we go on trips often where we can’t bring our dog. He absolutely loves it, he actually prefers to drink out of this over his bowl even when we freshly fill it up. It took about a week to train him to use it, so just be patient. Just follow the directions and it will work! It’s also great quality, can’t imagine I’d ever need to buy another one.
Great construction/concept
Product is made out of heavy duty material. It doesn't leak when not in use. Great alternative to a water dish that collects leaves and is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. I just need to spend more time putting peanut butter on it so my 3 rescues get use to using it.

My French Bulldog loved this thing. I trained him to use it when he was a puppy by putting some peanut butter on it at first and let him see that water was able to come out of it. My Pitbull didn’t really care for it so much and pretty much ignored it. But my French Bulldog loved it, unfortunately it’s not being used anymore because he unexpectedly passed away a few days ago. But when he did use it, he really enjoyed it. He wasn’t necessarily a “water dog” but he did really like this nozzle. We still had given him both options of having a bowl or this but most of the time he preferred the Lixit.

It works as advertised
Had one for years in storage and it leaked when I needed it again as I let the gasket dry.Worked so well I ordered a new one, thinking it would be made cheaper than the last one. Amazingly it was the same. 5 star for sure.
Dog water
This this is great. I just leave the water on and when she wants a drink she will go get it. I did add peanut butter to the end of it the first time to get her use to it and what it does.
