May I put this out for my 1 week old bany chicks? Is this something that you leave out all the time or once a week?

It is not recommended for chicks with down, on average chicks lose down and have feathers at 5-6 weeks old.
Once they have feathers you can leave in their pen with them all the time if you would like. However, they may poop in the dust box you are using. You may want to use a box you can remove from coop to keep the dust clean longer.
Do you have to mix it with something else?

The poultry dust is just pulverized volcanic ash, it does not contain any chemicals or pesticides and is simply used by itself. It is recommended you dig a shallow hole in your yard or chicken coop and put in the dust. You could also make a wood frame about 1 to 2 inches high and pour the dirt into it.
Can this be.used on other pets for their dust bathing.like .....chinchillas.???or just chickens ???thanks

This dust is a non-toxic material sustainably mined and milled in the USA. Lixit Dust is highly absorbent, removes urine, moisture, and excess oils from the fur. It has a texture of softness but not like clay or talc. It does not cause any kind of damage to the fur, animal or animal handlers. The dust was chemically analyzed to be essentially a natural aluminum silicate mineral containing no free silica, no free lime or arsenic. This dust also completely shakes out of the fur, thus leaving the animal clean and not permanently imparting the fur with dust. The Dust does not stick to the animal’s fur or cake-up into a hard mass. It contains no limestone or ground-up volcanic pumice which contains microscopic splinters of glass that can damage fur and irritate skin. Lixit Dust is also an excellent dust bath for chickens. Especially hens love to roll around in dust cleaning and refreshing their feathers. Not recommended for baby chicks with down, wait until chicks have feathers in before introducing them to the dust. Product contains no chemical additives or pesticides.
